Bobby Brown ‘Family Friend’ Tells All, Singer Reportedly Expressing Guilt Over Daughter’s Death

Although Bobbi Kristina Brown is now resting in peace, insiders claim one person will still have many sleepless nights ahead — her father, Bobby Brown. As previously reported on Inquisitr, the funeral itself made headlines for more reasons than it should have due to all of the chaos that occurred. But several news outlets are reporting the New Edition frontman harbors guilt because he reportedly feels he could have done more to protect his daughter.

Once again, some of the “My Prerogative” singer’s close friends and family are speaking out about his state of mind following the untimely death and funeral of his 22-year-old daughter. According to Hollywood Life and the Daily Mail, the people Bobby shared his sentiments with definitely have a lot to say. The family friend has revealed Bobby is still inconsolable.

“Bobby is inconsolable,” a Brown family friend reportedly told Hollywood Life. “He’s really beating himself up. He knew she was struggling in life. He knew she struggled with addiction and he knew Nick was a bad guy. He feels like he should have stepped in and done more. Yes, he voiced his concerns to Krissy, but he should have done more. He should have gone to her and gotten her into rehab and away from Nick. He just can’t shake the feeling he should have protected her from all of this.”

By now, everyone has probably read reports about Bobbi Kristina’s alleged drug use and her tumultuous relationship with Nick Gordon. The family friend, who Bobby reportedly confided in, has revealed that he is holding himself accountable for his daughter’s death. To some degree, he feels he could have done more “to save her.”

“Bobby says he was her father no matter what age she was and he should have fought her or anyone else who stopped her from saving her from herself,” the source said during an interview with the Daily Mail. “Bobby told me, ‘I should have gone to court to get a judge to make Bobbi Kristina go to rehab and then become her guardian — like Britney Spears’ father did to save her.'”

Now, he reportedly realizes how much of an impact he could have probably made in his daughter’s life but, unfortunately, now it is too late. The daunting experience has reportedly influenced a number of changes in the way Bobby interacts with his children. He’s reportedly made a vow to be more instrumental in his children’s lives going forward.

“[Bobby] realizes now how much Bobbi Kristina needed him. Krissi was an adult, but she clearly needed a dad who cared enough to tell her when she was wrong, and wouldn’t back down just because she got angry. Bobby failed Bobbi Kristina but he vows to never fail his kids again.”
