Lenny Kravitz And Steven Tyler Freak Out Their Kids With Tweets About Private Parts

It’s a good thing Lenny Kravitz isn’t the sensitive type. Folks have had a field day at the rocker’s expense since an onstage incident on August 4 in which Kravitz inadvertently exposed his manhood to concertgoers after a less than fortunate wardrobe malfunction. Splitting his leather pants, Lenny gave the audience an eyeful, and some uncensored video from the incident went viral and trended online for the better part of the day.

Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler, a longtime pal of Lenny Kravitz, joked with Lenny via text after the news hit social media. Kravitz, taking it all in stride, shared a screen shot of Tyler’s message with fans via Twitter.

“Dude…No underwear and pierced…F**k me.. You never showed me that s**t.”

Us Magazine further noted that Kravitz’s tweet included the noteworthy hashtag “#penisgate.”

In an ironic twist, actor Kevin Bacon launched something of a tongue-in-cheek campaign the same day calling for more male nudity in Hollywood. Slate notes that Bacon filmed a humorous public service announcement entitled “Free the Bacon,” referring to the various and sundry portions that comprise men’s so-called “private parts.”

“There’s a big problem in Hollywood today,” Bacon muses. “In so many films, we see gratuitous female nudity, and that’s not okay. Well…it’s okay. But it’s not fair to actresses and it’s not fair to actors because we want to be naked too. Gentlemen, it’s time to free the bacon.”

Lenny Kravitz hasn’t directly responded to Kevin Bacon’s satirical PSA, but then again, he’s being bombarded on all sides from people and groups who have something to offer regarding his inadvertent exposure. Animal rights organization People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) even took the occasion to note that Lenny’s defective trousers were made of leather, offering to help him make smarter wardrobe selections in the future.

Both Lenny Kravitz and Stephen Tyler have lived much of their lives in the public eye, so it’s pretty clear that both men don’t get embarrassed easily. But they’re both dads, and their daughters — both of whom are in their mid-twenties — seem to have found the whole flap somewhat cringe-worthy. Us Magazine notes that Steven’s daughter Chelsea tweeted at Zoe Kravitz on Tuesday, getting things out in the open with candor.

“So our dads talking about d**ks on social media is cool.”

Zoe later replied, registering a blend of surprise and embarrassment.

“What?! Oh no…Twitter? Oh god…hahha #penisgate”

For his part, Lenny Kravitz will get the chance to provide even more memorable moments in the near future as he’s currently in the midst of a series of shows in Europe. A concert in Skanderborg, Denmark, is scheduled for August 6 and he’ll play in Gdansk, Poland, on August 8. It’s a safe bet that concertgoers in the front rows will have their cameras ready, too.
