‘Real Housewives Of Atlanta’ Season Eight Cast News: Who’s Returning And Who’s Been Fired?

The Real Housewives of Atlanta season eight recently began production, and now, fans are learning of potential changes to the show, both in the series’ cast and their storylines. On Aug. 4, OK! Magazine shared a few updates regarding the cast of The Real Housewives of Atlanta season eight, including news of Porsha Williams’ return to her full-time role, and the addition of Kandi Burruss’ pregnancy storyline.

“NeNe Leakes has announced her split from the show. And reports say that several potential new cast members are being screened tested for the show. Shereé Whitfield, is also still said to be one of the top contenders for one of the show’s empty spots!”

In addition, claimed OK! Magazine, Radar Online recently revealed Cynthia Bailey, Kenya Moore and Phaedra Parks would return to The Real Housewives of Atlanta. All of the returning women have appeared on the last couple of seasons of The Real Housewives of Atlanta, and while season seven saw a new star, Claudia Jordan, she is not expected to be back.

Prior to her exit from The Real Housewives of Atlanta, as the Inquisitr reported, Leakes called for cast changes. During an interview, via Reality Tea, Leakes revealed her thoughts regarding the show’s tendency to welcome unmarried women, despite its title.

“The show IS called Housewives, isn’t it? So you need to be married to be on the show. I think that over the years the show has become very negative and there has been some people thrown in the mix that come negative and made the show negative, so I think they should recast. I don’t mind if there’s one girl, maybe two girls, that aren’t married because it’s always great to see a single girl like dating and all that kind of stuff. But to have as many girls as we have on our show that aren’t married, I think we need to get rid of a couple.”

The Real Housewives of Atlanta‘s upcoming season is sure to be interesting to viewers. Since the show’s beginning, they’ve watched as Leakes became the unofficial star of the show, but now, the times have changed, and the “lead” role is now up for grabs.

The Real Housewives of Atlanta season eight is expected to premiere on Bravo this fall.
