Ben Affleck Nanny Scandal: Affleck’s Rep Denies Allegations, Was Jennifer Garner Nitpicky?

Weeks after Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner announced they were heading towards an amicable divorce, rumors started to circulate about Affleck’s infidelity. Affleck’s rep has consistently debunked the rumors, but the tabloids bumped the interest factor up a notch by revealing that Affleck had an alleged relationship with the couple’s former nanny.

According to sources, the nanny, Christine Ouzounian, is talking to anyone who will listen. Ouzounian says she’s in love with Affleck, and he broke up with her due to their circumstances. Ouzounian also said she was asked to go to the Bahamas for the family vacation that was meant for Ben and Jen to spend with their children. She was reportedly overheard saying that she went, even though she didn’t want to.

Multiple sources have come forward (Ouzounian’s friends?) about the nanny factor in Ben and Jen’s relationship. Either way, Affleck didn’t come looking like a good guy and instead of putting up a united front as the couple wanted, Jennifer Garner looks like a scorned woman, while Affleck is pretty close to his portrayal of Nick Dunne in Gone Girl.

Then, to add insult to injury, Ouzounian reportedly called the paparazzi on her and Ben, and photos were taken showing the two laughing it up in the middle of the night. Throughout all of this, including a reported rendezvous at Affleck’s rental, Ben’s reps have vehemently denied that he ever had a relationship with the former nanny — before, after, or during the split.

Now, Ben’s sources are coming forward to say that it was Garner’s nitpicky ways that lead to a split, and any kind of relationship with the nanny was simply a friendly relationship. According to People, sources said, “When you are made to feel like an inadequate husband over and over again, your friends are going to say maybe this isn’t working out.”

Currently, Ben is in Atlanta while Garner films Miracles from Heaven. Ben is reportedly staying put to spend time “with [his] kids as much as possible,” and he is “leaning on his mom and friends.” A source continued to People, “This is not easy for him. It’s hard not to pay attention to the stories that are being written about you, but he continues to focus on what is most important, his family.”

As for the nanny scandal, sources are saying, “Ben’s friendly, but it’s not always meant to be flirty. This was a very close relationship with someone who was taking care of the most important people in his life.” The source added of his friendliness, “People want to fault him for that.”

People also reported the other side of the equation, which is how Jennifer Garner feels about the news of the alleged affair. “To Jen, this is the ultimate betrayal.” That said, Affleck’s source counters, “This was not one of the reasons for the breakup. There was no physical relationship before or after the breakup.”

When this all began, Affleck’s rep told the Daily News, “You shouldn’t be able to hide behind blind sources. We’re considering legal options.”
