Drunk Man Who Chased Google Street View Car Is A ‘Changed Man’

In May last year, Luke Beer had been out drinking all night with his pals in Birmingham in the U.K. He reckons he is a changed man after finding out he had been caught on the Google Street View camera, chasing the car down the street.

Birmingham Updates reported on the story on August 4, releasing a very amusing video of Beer, backed with the popular music from the Benny Hill comedy series.

When visiting the scene of the crime, so to speak, on Hill Street in Birmingham, Beer’s two friends can be seen carrying him, in a totally drunken state.

Apparently he wasn’t so drunk, however, that he didn’t notice the Google Street View passing them on the street and struggled to his feet.

Beer then made up his mind to give chase after the Google Street View car, to hilarious effect.

Birmingham Updates apparently tracked Beer (a rather appropriate but very real name) down via his Facebook page.

The Birmingham Mail quotes an interview with Beer, a sales manager, where he said he is a changed man since this happened.

“Funny behavior I completely forgot I even done it. This was the same night I decided to sleep outside my pals’ ….. cracking evening. Even though the doors were open.”

While Beer did say he was slightly hungover the next day, he recovered after some food and would like to thank Google Street View for their “perfect timing.”

Naturally, unless Google Street View decide to do an updated tour of Hill Street in Birmingham, Beer is there for posterity, in all his drunken glory.

In other amusing news relating to Google Maps, someone discovered yet another of Google’s famous “Easter Eggs.” As reported on the Inquisitr, he made a video showing what happens if you ask the age-old question “Are we there yet?” four times when using the Google Maps app.

And then there was the armed robbery in progress, captured by the Google Street View camera in Johannesburg, South Africa. The camera not only picked up the armed robbery, but also the security guard, sitting with his legs folded and completely unconcerned, a little further down the street.

It all goes to show, unless you want to be shown to the world, hide when you see that little Google Street Car heading down your street! You could be out there on Google Maps for a very long time.
