Get Ready To Get Up And Dance To The ‘Game Of Thrones’ Remix [Video]

On a day when the internet has blown up with images of Alexander Skarsgard in a frock and Lenny Kravitz with his junk hanging out, here’s another thing to add to your “can’t look away from” internet goodies: the Game of Thrones Remix.

The remix uses video and phrases from seasons 1 and 2 of HBO’s Game of Thrones. It has been put together by YouTube user Placeboing who has used a variety of products to get the remix just right.

“I use Ableton Live for all music and sample remixing. Ableton handles the simpler video edits but loses the video when anything beyond cutting and warping is done (reversing, midi triggering, etc), so then I need to sync those parts manually with Sony Vegas, which is also where I do the splitscreening/etc that Ableton can’t do.”

The video clip features many familiar faces from Game of Thrones including Robert Baratheon (played by Mark Addy), Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage), Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey), Arya Stark (Maisie Williams), and many more. As to be expected from Game of Thrones, there is also a sexposition scene slotted in to keep fans of nudity happy.

Some of the Game of Thrones remix is made up from actual phrases spoken by the cast, set to music featured in the hit HBO show. However, some of the music in this remix is actually made up using cleverly cut sounds from the show. For example, there is a ticking sound replayed at the start of the Game of Thrones remix that is made during a mock sword fight between Arya Stark and Mycah Umber (Rhodri Hosking). There is also the sounds of a bell tolling, Tyrion whistling, and one of the Stark children cracking nuts blended over the top of each other to create the soundtrack behind the phrases.

Included in the musical dialogue is Syrio Forel (Miltos Yerolemou) stating, “now we begin the dance,” Robert Baratheon saying, “shut your mouth” (to which there is a brilliant pause in the remix before Robert laughs and the remix starts up again), and Cersei proclaiming “when you play the game of thrones you win or you die.”

Placeboing also does a couple of remixes for Breaking Bad which can be found here and here. Fans are now asking for a remix of AMC’s The Walking Dead.
