Every ‘Fallout 4’ Pre-order Bonus Revealed So Far Compared

After being announced to the world just a couple of months ago, Fallout 4 is now available for pre-order in preparation for the title’s upcoming launch this November. While many individual retailers have not yet specified if they will be offering any extras for gamers who pre-order the game, both Microsoft and Sony have now announced to gamers what pre-order bonus they will be offering to Xbox One and Playstation 4 owners who digitally purchase Fallout 4 ahead of release.

As the Inquisitr reported shortly after Bethesda revealed Fallout 4 during this year’s E3 event, those who pick up the next installment of the popular post-apocalyptic franchise from the Xbox Store will also receive a digital version of Fallout 3. Furthermore, thanks to backwards compatibility coming to the Xbox One, gamers will soon be able to play those digital copies of Fallout 3 on their Xbox One for the first time.

While the third entry of the series has not been released on current-gen consoles, Microsoft announced this week at Gamescom that backwards compatibility on the Xbox One will go live this November, the same month that Fallout 4 is scheduled for release. According to a report from Kotaku, Microsoft also confirmed that Fallout 3 will be among the first batch of titles available for backwards compatibility, meaning everyone that pre-orders Fallout 4 for Xbox will be able to play either title on the Xbox One later this year.

Unfortunately, those who pre-order Fallout 4 for the Playstation 4 won’t be getting as robust of a reward. Partially due to the fact that Sony has opted not to bring backwards compatibility to the PS4, those who digitally pre-purchase Fallout 4 for Sony’s current platform won’t receive anything as intricate as a previous entry from the famed series.

Instead, all PS4 pre-orders of Bethesda’s next game will come with a free Fallout 4 theme for the Playstation 4. The bonus theme is completely static, which means any PS4 owner who pre-orders Fallout 4 will receive the bonus offer immediately since only consists of a simply background image. In a video preview, Games Radar gave fans a look at the Fallout 4 pre-order theme earlier this week.

Since Bethesda kept the fact that they were working on Fallout 4 a secret for so long, the game is being released much closer to its announcement than what is usually seen. As a result, the developer has stated that they have already completed most of the game’s features and will mostly be working on bug fixes from now until launch.

With only a few months before Fallout 4 lands on current-gen platforms, time is running out for additional pre-order offers to be announced. As such, the digital rewards from console purchases could be the only significant bonuses for the game.
