Britney Conservator: Britney Spears Will Remain Under Conservatorship ‘Indefinitely’ Because ‘It Works’

Britney Spears will likely have a conservator for the rest of her life. According to Gawker, Britney has been under a conservatorship since 2008. Her father, Jamie Spears, has been in full control of Britney’s finances since the pop star had a bout of depression that caused her to be hospitalized. It is now being reported that Spears will keep this arrangement in place because it’s working for her — and for her empire.

At one point in time, Britney’s ex-fiancé, Jason Trawick, was a co-conservator (during their relationship), but gave up his role when the two split in 2013. Now, sources say that Britney will keep her dad at the helm of all things personal and financial.

Britney needs a conservator to ensure that she stays on the right path. According to TMZ, Britney Spears has “substantial day-to-day freedom,” and the positives of this setup far outweigh any negatives. For this reason, the conservatorship will be in place “indefinitely.”

“The conservatorships have worked remarkably well. Britney — who at her worst was on the verge of losing permanent custody of her kids — is now by any standard a great parent. Jamie and Britney’s doctors have stabilized her to the point she can successfully work and maintain a personal life.”

The report indicates that the conservatorship brought in $14 million (a fraction of her actual earnings) in 2014, which proves that Britney’s finances are in order, and that her life is back on track.

Britney’s conservatorship doesn’t prohibit her from enjoying life. As previously reported by the Inquisitr, the Piece Of Me singer headed to Hawaii with her two sons, Sean Preston, 9, and Jayden James, 8, two weeks ago for some R&R — and some fun in the sun. On a break from her Las Vegas residency (which is ended this year), Britney soaked up some rays in a two-piece, posing with her boys for a picture to share with fans.

So what will Britney do next? According to E! News, there are rumors that she is working on new music, and sources say that she may get back on the road for a concert tour. It has been four years since Britney went on tour (last time was her Femme Fatale tour in 2011).

“Sources tell me Spears hasn’t indicated yet what she wants to do. There’s some buzz of launching a concert tour. As we’ve previously reported, she’s been in the studio recently working on new music,” said Marc Malkin at E!
