WWE News: Huge Updates On WWE 2K16 Video Game, MyCareer And WWE Universe Mode Overhauled

October is the one month every year that it seems every top game comes out. The Fall season is looked forward to by many fans. A lot of video games will be coming, but one of the most anticipated this year very well could be WWE 2K16. This is set to be the best WWE game of them all, with an almost complete overhaul from the last game, WWE 2K15.

Last year, WWE fans liked and hated the game. It had a lot of good in it, but there seemed to be a lack of something special. On top of that, the WWE career mode was seemingly rushed and terrible to play after a while. It had limited stories, you could only compete on a few PPVs a year, and it all ended the moment you won the WWE Championship.

WWE Universe mode, the best part of the game, had a lot of great things added. Sadly, we were still missing something. On top of this, the gameplay was better than in previous games but there was a need for a change in it.

2K Sports listened massively.

According to IGN.com, these are just a few of the changes 2K Sports has made that will be part of WWE 2K16.

  • MyCareer is back, and this time it goes a lot further, all the way to you gaining admission to the WWE Hall of Fame.
  • Create a Diva, Create a Show, Create an Arena, and Create a Championship are back in!
  • WWE Universe: Wrestlers can now be booked to multiple shows
  • Online has been “overhauled.”
  • Three-man commentary team, with John “Bradshaw” Layfield joining King and Cole.
  • Ladder, handicap, and tornado tag match types added back in.
  • No loading screens between entrances, and you can assault opponents during their entrance!
  • Improved ref and manager AI.

The fact that WWE 2K16 will have additional things such as a better Career mode is already getting fans excited. WWE Universe eventually had to change due to how WWE works today, but we will see if the brand split option is still in play.

JBL being added to the commentary team with Jerry Lawler and Michael Cole is cool to see. Fans like JBL, so it is great that he can be part of the game this year.

The biggest thing for most fans, however, might be the loading screen departure. Fans complained about this load time massively last year. It was terrible. However, the only reason 2K Sports removed it from WWE 2K16 was because they were allowing the option to assault your opponent. This is something every friend will want to do at least once to their pals while playing the game, for sure.

Gameplay also changed a bit this year, with new pin and submission systems. They are similar to games from the past, so it shouldn’t be hard to adjust. 2K Sports will probably add a training video at the beginning to get you adjusted to the new system.

Manager and Ref artificial intelligence is also a cool addition by 2K Sports. Few people complain about this, but one of the biggest problems with games from the past was how managers didn’t seem to walk with their clients to the ring. This seems to have changed, but that is not confirmed. They may also have someone like a Paul Heyman work differently to help his clients over others.

We all know that referees absolutely suck at seeing things. So, if we could see the ref turn into a real life sort of ref where he will miss things or stupid stuff will happen to him that causes a shift in any match, that could be cool to see.

We are guaranteed to see the ladder matches, handicap, and tornado tag matches back. This tout by 2K Sports make many WWE fans wonder if 2K Sports has changed the matches a bit. The ladder match last year was relatively good, but if they improved on it, no one would complain.

Additional to all of this, WWE 2K16 will have the biggest roster of any WWE game before it, with over 120 unique playable characters. This is a pretty big deal. This does not mean that you’ll have a retro John Cena or old school Mark Henry as part of the 120. All 120 players will be a different person. This is most likely because 2K Sports will be adding a great deal of the WWE NXT roster.

It is uncertain if stars like Samoa Joe and Rhyno will be part of the game as of this writing, seeing as they came in relatively late to the party this year to be part of it. However, since 2K Sports is adding so many people to start, they are surely considering the concept of downloadable content. That must mean that they have a plan to give us some people that we want. Those two are probably on the top of the list if they are not on the game at the start.

WWE 2K16 is certainly setting up to look great and play great. The fact that 2K Sports added so much to this game tells us that are really trying to give us the best product possible. This is all WWE fans ask at the end of the day. What is so cool for WWE fans is that this is only the beginning. 2K Sports will probably let us know more information around WWE SummerSlam time. The game comes out October 27, and can be pre-ordered at any point now.
