Kim Kardashian’s Lawyers Accuse Kris Humphries Of Stalling Divorce For Media Attention
Kim Kardashian ended her marriage after just 72 days, but she still hasn’t been able to finalize the divorce. The reality star’s lawyers are now accusing Kris Humphries of stalling to keep his name in the headlines,and have asked an L.A. judge to push forward with the divorce proceedings.
Laura Wasser, Kardashian’s lawyer said:
“I feel that (Humphries’) personal feelings and maybe some media drive is keeping this case alive. Certainly, they’ve been separated longer than they’ve been married.”
Last month a source close to Humphries said that he wouldn’t end the marriage until Kardashian admitted that it was a sham. The wedding was a major media event and reportedly brought millions in for Kardashian. When the marriage ended just two and a half months later, many Kardashian critics accused the reality star of marrying Humphries strictly to boost her earnings.
“Kris wants Kim to admit to fraud, to admit the whole thing was staged for publicity, to make a public apology because he really wanted a marriage.”
KSN reports that Humphries’ lawyer, Marshall Waller, said that he is currently gathering witness depositions and needed more time to build his case.
Kardashian and Humphries are due back in court on August 15th. The couple would have been celebrating their one year anniversary on August 20th.
