Andrew Quarless Missed Two Days Of Practice – The Reason Why Will Break Your Heart

NFL player Andrew Quarless had to miss two days of practice owing to possibly one of the worst situations a person can be in. His delay was attributed to the death of his daughter in the delivery room.

Green Bay Packers tight end Andrew Quarless was supposed to be blessed with a daughter and a second child last week. Quarless had even informed coach Mike McCarthy about the upcoming joyous occasion. The coach had termed the event “a positive personal situation.” However, the gravity in McCarthy’s voice the following day was indicative of something terrible.

When Quarless remained absent for the second day, the coach offered a solemn explanation, saying the sixth-year tight end was dealing with “a very difficult family situation,” reported MSN. Turns out the pro-footballer had to bear the loss of his daughter. Though Quarless returned to practice, he did so in limited capacity and with a heavy heart and chose to address the media after being a full participant in Monday’s padded practice at Ray Nitschke Field, reported USA Today. Speaking about his loss, Quarless said,

“It’s the saddest day of my life. I thank this team for the type of support they have given me to help me get through this. Just very thankful for these guys. It’s really a family in here. It’s really a family.

I’m looking forward [to] my first day getting back out there today. It felt real good. It felt real good just to get out there, catch some passes, be able to run around a little bit, kind of get back to your old self and get back into things.”

Things were barely starting to look up for Andrew Quarless, who was risking suspension just a few weeks earlier. Quarless still has a court date after being arrested for allegedly firing a couple of shots from a handgun into the air. He allegedly fired the shots after an altercation with a group of women. He apparently even tried to leave the scene and bury the handgun in a potted plant, before being apprehended. He eventually pleaded No Contest in court for his acts.

After a lengthy discussion with Coach McCarthy, Quarless was given a chance to redeem himself and focus on the positives in life, which included the then-upcoming birth of his daughter. McCarthy’s words of advice were quite simple, shared Quarless:

“To just focus and not be too hard on yourself.”

However, as cruel as fate could be, Quarless, who is already a father of a five-year-old boy, couldn’t get to be a father to a baby girl. The details pertaining to the death of his baby girl haven’t been released, but a brave Andrew Quarless reportedly received a lot of hugs in the locker room and “the game” is now perhaps his only momentary escape.
