Ted Nugent Goes Off on Reporter, Blames Kidney Stone Pain

If you think his recent brush with the Secret Service was enough to temper Ted Nugent’s tendency to go off foaming at the mouth… well, no.

Ted Nugent recently caused a bit of controversy by saying that if President Barack Obama is re-elected in November, he’d either wind up “dead” or “in jail,” a statement that was interpreted by many as a veiled threat at the Commander-in-Chief. It’s generally understood that while we’re all allowed to criticize the President, threats are taken pretty seriously by the Secret Service in between hooker visits and generally, you can expect a knock on your door if you say such a thing.

Anyway, Nugent received a visit from the Secret Service after the remarks were widely reported, and didn’t appear in the media again until sitting down with Jeff Glor on CBS This Morning. The aging rock star was asked about his visit from the government, which he downplayed- describing it as “adorable.”

The conversation then turned to whether Ted Nugent himself was a moderate, and the rocker kind of lost the rag with Glor- using a rather vulgar expletive when ranting about the issue he’d just try to minimize:

“Call me when you meet someone who does that more than I do. Because that’s really moderate. In fact, you know what that is? That’s extreme. … I’m an extremely loving, passionate man, and people who investigate me honestly, without the baggage of political correctness, ascertain the conclusion that I’m a damned nice guy, and if you can find a screening process more powerful than that, I’ll suck your ****.”

Of the controversy, Ted Nugent says that it stemmed not from his injudicious words, but rather political correctness infiltrating society and even the Army, who chose not to host Nugent after he made the statement in question about the President. Nugent later blamed the outburst on pain from a kidney stone.
