Jenny McCarthy Shares Throwback Pic Of Cousin Melissa McCarthy

Reality star Jenny McCarthy recently took a trip down Memory Lane with her Instagram page, and she brought Melissa McCarthy along for the ride.

For “Throwback Thursday,” the Donnie Loves Jenny star posted an old picture of herself standing alongside one of her sisters, and cousin Melissa.

Apparently, the young girls did not seem very happy in the picture because of the extremely high temperatures during their family trip to the zoo.

“Me, my sis and my cousin Melissa. 102 degrees at the zoo, not happy campers. #tbt”

Jenny McCarthy made her feelings about her famous cousin public last summer when she addressed claims that she criticized the Mike and Molly star about her weight.

In a July, 2014, interview with People magazine, Jenny McCarthy squashed the rumors by stating that she never did that. On the contrary, Jenny claimed that she had always supported Melissa in her career.

“There is a crazy story going around that I once told my cousin, Melissa, that she would have to lose weight in order to get into show business. Nothing could be further from the truth.”

While the 41-year-old reality star may have opened the door to show business for her cousin, Jenny McCarthy also made it clear that Melissa deserves all of the credit for the success that she has achieved.

“When she was starting out, I was fortunate enough to be in a position to get her a job on a show I was doing, to learn the ropes and get some experience on a TV set in front of the camera and behind the scenes. She has accomplished everything she has accomplished through hard work and her extraordinary talent, and I’ve only ever encouraged and supported and wished her the very best.”

The fact that Jenny McCarthy did not invite her cousin to her wedding also made headlines and added fuel to the fire of speculation circulating in the media. According to Jenny, the reason why Melissa McCarthy was not invited was simply because of the type of ceremony that was planned by Donnie and Jenny.

“They also say that I’ve ‘banned’ Melissa… which is also ridiculous. Donnie and I are planning a very intimate ceremony that will involve a very small group of our closest friends and that’s it – not a huge production with hundreds of friends and extended families.”

Within the same interview, Jenny McCarthy explained how “hurtful” it was for people to “make up stories that pit not just families, but specifically women, against each other.”
