Raven-Symoné Returns To Disney On September 7 As Former Spy

The View co-host Raven-Symoné will guest-star on the September 7 episode of Disney Channel’s hit tween series, K.C. Undercover. The one-hour spy comedy stars Zendaya as a high school undercover spy, and this particular episode finds her enlisting the help of a former spy and computer engineering expert (Raven-Symoné) when her family’s sophisticated robot runs away and is captured by enemy agents, reports Variety.

Earlier this year, Raven-Symoné announced her guest-starring role when she posted a photo on Instagram from the K.C. set — giving fans a glimpse of her and Zendaya in unrecognizable disguises. Zendaya is a co-producer on the series, which co-stars Kadeem Hardison, Tammy Townsend, Kamil McFadden, Trinitee Stokes, and Veronica Dunne.

Raven starred on her own Disney show, That’s So Raven, which ran for four seasons, wrapping in 2007. The series was nominated in 2005 and 2007 for Emmy Awards for Outstanding Children’s Programming. It spawned a spin-off series, Cory in the House. Interestingly enough, a previous Inquisitr article examined how Raven’s career was suspiciously resurrected after she denied her African roots to Oprah during a sit-down last October.

Back in May, Raven chatted with ETonline about filming the K.C. episode and what is was it like returning to her Disney roots.

“That Disney Channel episode of ‘K.C Undercover’ is amazing!” Raven gushed. “I resurrect the crazy antics that you might have seen on ‘That’s So Raven,’ and doing it with a little sister like Zendaya, who is very talented and funny in her own right, is a joy.”

Since its January premiere, K.C. Undercover has been the number 1 series in kids six to 11 and the number 1 live-action TV series in kids two to 11. Raven told ET that the filming with Zendaya was an insightful learning experience.

“She’s a very smart individual, so any advice I gave wasn’t necessarily, ‘Let’s sit down and talk,’ it was show by example,” Raven explained. “And she gave me wonderful silent advice as well in just how things are progressing in the new generation for things and it was definitely a back and forth learning experience.”

Raven recently revealed on The View how her weight was an issue when she was just a little girl working on the set of The Cosby Show.

“It was definitely hard,” Raven-Symoné said on Tuesday’s show. “I remember not being able to have [a] bagel or anything. I remember people would be like, ‘You can’t eat that. You’re getting fat!'” she recalled. “I’m like, ‘I’m 7! I’m hungry!’ ”

Tune in to catch Raven-Symoné and Zendaya on a special one-hour episode of K.C. Undercover on Monday, September 7, at 7 p.m. ET/PT on Disney Channel. Check out a preview of Raven’s episode in the clip below.
