WWE News: Backstage Update On ‘Tough Enough’ And Who Vince McMahon Wants To Win

While Tough Enough hasn’t the most-successful show in WWE history, it certainly has fans talking on all social media platforms. Two weeks in a row, crowd favorites were voted off by the WWE Universe. Patrick a product of Maryland Championship Wrestling, was eliminated after Paige put him in the bottom three two weeks ago. This past episode, Mada was voted off the program.

This is a brand new format that the WWE debuted with the show, so problems with it inevitable. It’s not a failure by any stretch of the imagination, as social media participation is high and viewership is starting to gain more traction.

Despite the reality of Tough Enough, WWE officials have their eye on one man in particular. According to Daily Wrestling News, Vince McMahon is a fan of a current participant of Tough Enough and has wanted him to win since day one.

“It was also noted that WWE officials see Josh as the favorite. Josh has been Vince McMahon‘s favorite since day one and Vince wants him to win.”

There is more drama behind the scenes than in most years. Since they pre-tape the show, it’s easy to shape the footage and keep a trainee in the spotlight or in the shadows. Take Sara Lee for example; she wasn’t highlighted at all in the first few weeks. and Patrick were the stars of the program. All of a sudden, Sara Lee started to be in backstage interviews and Paige called her out multiple times.

In a separate report, WWE officials want one Tough Enough participant to get voted off. ZZ, a fan favorite, isn’t in the best shape. The 19-year old wasn’t well-represented on last week’s edition of Tough Enough. That was not a coincidence. WWE officials want ZZ eliminated from the company, and that looked like their plan last week.

Unfortunately for them, WWE fans love ZZ and enjoy his personality on the program. Out of everybody left, Tanner and Chelsea are the most impressive. Chelsea has Indy experience, while Tanner has a background in MMA. Perhaps the WWE Universe wants this to be a popularity contest, instead of who has the most potential.

Patrick and Mada were extremely impressive in the wrestling and promo categories. With Patrick’s natural charisma and athleticism, he would’ve made a great mid-card guy at first. As for Mada, he just screams WWE star. It’s the bodybuilder-look, but that’s what WWE used to be known for. Who will get voted off next week? Look out for Josh and ZZ and see what the cameras do for them.
