Another Duggar Scandal: ’19 Kids And Counting’ Stars Connected To Yet Another Pedophile Scandal [Report]

The Duggar family is at the center of controversy yet again. Apparently, Josh Duggar wasn’t the only alleged pedophile associated with the Christian-inspired reality show, 19 Kids and Counting. According to Radar Online, the show’s editor William Blankinship has also faced numerous child pornography charges.

As previously reported on Inquisitr, Blankinship was arrested and charged with possession of child pornography, but now graphic details about his arrest have been released in the wake of the Duggar scandal. North Carolina court documents obtained by Radar reveal the 60-year-old television editor was arrested and charged with “ten felony counts of second-degree sexual exploitation of a child” after local authorities discovered his disturbing collection of graphic videos and lewd images of small children.

It has been reported that the girls in Blankinship’s collection ranged from ages 1 to 11. Some of the horrific images captured nude toddlers with “ejaculate” around their private areas while others showed some of the older girls bound while being forced to engage in various sexual acts with adult males.

Blankinship was a part of the 19 Kids and Counting editorial staff from 2008 to 2010 before he was indicted. Although he was immediately terminated when his arrest was made public, his disturbing interactions with so many children raises speculation about his behavior towards them. In addition to 19 Kids and Counting, Blankinship was also involved with other family-based reality shows with numerous children, including Kate Plus 8 and Table for 12.

According to a previous report, Blankinship was subcontracted to Figure 8 Films through the company Serious Robots, for editing services. TLC released a statement regarding its affiliation with Blankinship, citing that he was not directly employed with the network. The network also insisted Blankinship never came in contact with any of the children who have participated in any of the series.

“Bill Blankinship was employed by Serious Robots, with whom Figure 8 Films subcontract for editing services. Upon learning of the shocking allegations his employment was terminated. At no time was this man ever in the field or in direct contact with any of the talent for any of our productions.”

However, Jon Gosselin’s 2009 comment about pedophiles only raised more questions and speculation. Although Blankinship may not have come in direct contact with the children, any type of involvment with children may be unsettling for some. “I put my kids out there to every pedophile on the planet and they never got paid for it.”

Blankinship initially faced the possibility of 63 years behind bars, but the acceptance of a plea deal led to the reduction of his sentence and he agreed to serve 25-39 months in prison, with 48 months of supervision thereafter. In addition to being a registered sex offender, Blankinship has also been ordered to refrain from one-on-one interactions with children under the age of 16.

The details regarding Blankinship’s indictment come two months after TLC announced the cancellation of 19 Kids and Counting amid Josh Duggar’s child molestation scandal. “After thoughtful consideration, TLC and the Duggar family have decided to not move forward with 19 Kids and Counting. The show will no longer appear on the air. The recent attention around the Duggars has sparked a critical and important conversation about child protection.”
