‘Big Brother 17’: Jason Roy Calls Nominating Shelli And Clay A ‘Scumbag’ Move For Him If He’d Stayed [Spoilers]

Big Brother 17 superfan Jason Roy was evicted on Thursday night, but in one post-eviction interview he revealed he’s got some strong game sense. When asked by Big Brother Network to speculate about who he might have targeted if he’d avoided eviction, Roy pointed to the catch-22 his safety would have created. It’s the same dilemma a player still in the house might have to navigate.

“I would have [targeted] either Clay [Honeycutt] and Shelli [Poole], but if I had survived last night it would have probably been because of them. So I would have really scumbagged them and put them up. Or my main target would have been Austin and a twin or maybe putting up the twins together and backdoor’ing Austin.”

So, if Clay and Shelli stepped in to save him, he would owe them a favor, probably safety for the following week. Ignoring that debt by nominating them would be a “scumbag” move, in Roy’s words.

Ironically, it’s a choice that the current Head of Household now faces.

Warning: Spoilers from the Big Brother 17 live feeds to follow.

As previously reported by the Inquisitr, James Huling won Thursday night’s endurance competition, but not before promising safety to John McGuire, Clay and Shelli. Overnight, Huling told his allies that he may very well go after Clay, Shelli, Vanessa, Austin, Liz, or Julia — the “Sixth Sense” alliance — despite what he promised to Shelli.

After all, Clay and Shelli broke their promise to James and his allies by backtracking on the evict Austin plan.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Jason Roy revealed that his opinion of Shelli has changed since his exit.

“I’m thinking maybe Shelli wasn’t the major mastermind as she does seem on the inside. Shelli does seem to be running it on the inside and she does it very well with some big blue eyes and a bright smile.”

The superfan said he also sees Vanessa a bit differently.

“I knew Vanessa was very good but I did not think she was as flawlessly good as she seems.”

As for why he didn’t threaten Shelli and Clay while he was still in the house, Roy said it would only have put his allies, such as Meg, in more trouble. “Sixth Sense” was simply too strong.

Live feed viewers should get the scoop on James’ nominations sometime soon. Those nominations will be the focus of Sunday’s episode.

Big Brother 17 airs Sundays, Wednesdays and Thursdays on CBS.
