Peyton Manning Immortalized In Chocolate

Peyton Manning holds countless NFL records including the most touchdowns in a season, most touchdowns in a career, and most passing yards in one season. Now though, Manning may be able to claim yet another thing that no other NFL player can call their own, a larger than life chocolate statue made in his likeness.

Tim King, the professional sculptor who is responsible for what is sure to be an incredible work of art, is putting the piece together for the 2015 Choctober Event held in Broomfield, Colorado on September 19. While King has sculpted animals and even people before, he has never sculpted anything quite like Manning.

Due to Manning’s prominence throughout Colorado and the NFL, King has decided to go into great detail to make sure that this sculpture is the best he has ever produced. If you are unfamiliar with how Manning arrived to the Denver Broncos, King’s sculpture may paint a picture to help you understand. The sculpture when finished, will include the scar on Manning’s neck that is the result of the surgery from 2011 that essentially brought him to Denver.

In order for the sculpture to remain intact before the festival begins, the sculpture will be first made of plaster. Then once settled, the sculpture will be covered from top to bottom in liquid chocolate, as to not melt under pressure like Manning often does.

It is not surprising that people in the Denver area would be interested in this sculpture, as Manning has catapulted the team to the upper echelons of the NFL since he arrived. However, while Manning is a far better option than previous Broncos quarterbacks such as Tim Tebow, Kyle Orton, Jay Cutler, or Jake Plummer, it still remains to be seen whether or not he can bring the city of Denver what they long covet, a Super Bowl Championship.

Perhaps this chocolatey wonder will give the Broncos the extra push they need this upcoming season to finally bring home that Super Bowl Championship that has eluded them since the 1998 season when John Elway was still around. While Manning has shown the past three seasons he can easily lead a team to a top 5 offense in the league, he will be 39-years-old when the upcoming season begins and could surely call it a career once the season concludes.

Perhaps once Choctoberfest concludes, the sculpture will be sent to the Broncos facility to bring Manning and the Broncos some sort of luck. Whatever it is that happens to the sculpture, this is certainly an honor for Manning and truly exemplifies the importance and impact he has had on the Denver area.
