‘Destiny’: Xur’s Exotic Goods For Weekend Of July 31, Suros Regime Returns
Destiny players still hoping that Xûr, Agent of the Nine, will show up with that missing House of Wolves Exotic armor piece are going to have to wait another week. The mysterious vendor set up shop in the game for the weekend of July 31 with some familiar faces. Fortunately, he has a certain Suros branded weapon that hasn’t been seen for sale in a long while.
This week’s hiding spot for Xûr is in the Reef social area. You’ll want to turn right from the spawn point, head down the stairs past the Bounty vendor, and then go in the first door to the right of the bottom of the stairs. The Agent of the Nine is tucked away in a corner on the right.
Xûr and his items will only be available in Destiny through the morning of Sunday, July 26. As soon as the clock strikes 5 a.m. ET / 2 a.m. PT, he will be gone.
It’s another so-so week from Xûr, but at least this time he has some items for sale that have not been seen in a while. The Suros Regime fell out of favor following the 1.1.1 update nerf, but Bungie is giving it a second shot with the upcoming 2.0 update. Meanwhile, all three Exotic armor pieces are not top-tier and there is only one with an above average stat roll this week.
The Helmet Exotic Engram is back after taking a week off last week. This is now five out of the last six weeks that this has been available. If you still are missing that elusive Exotic helmet, you get another shot.
Here is what is available for sale and upgrade from Xûr this weekend. Thanks again to DestinyDB for the Exotic information below.

For those wondering what to get, here are a few helpful hints.
The Suros Regime Auto Rifle was the preferred PVP weapon due to its high impact combined with balanced out stats. A nerf to the entire Auro Rifle class ended up putting this in many players’ Vaults, but it may be time to bring it out again once The Taken King and the Destiny 2.0 update hits. If you don’t have one yet, it may be worth getting one to see how it improves.
The “Suros Regime” perk gives the weapon extra damage dealing for the bottom half of the magazine. Meanwhile, “Focused Fire” will make the weapon fire slower, but do more damage while aimed.
No Backup Plans are the only Exotic gauntlets currently available to Guardians and are geared toward the Defender sub-class. They provide a big boost in strength while the “Rain Blows” perks increases melee speed. Meanwhile, the “Improved Disintegrate” perk will increase the duration of the Force Barrier that pops over you after you punch that Warlock into oblivion.
The 103 Strength stat roll for the No Backup Plans does not do this piece of armor any favors. Helm of Saint-14 is still the go to Exotic armor for the Defender sub-class while Armamentarium and Ruin Wings are also suitable alternatives. These are a pickup only if you need them this week.
Knucklehead Radar is unique in Destiny as it allows the radar to stay up when any Hunters sub-class uses any primary weapon. That’s something you’ll have to decide if it is worth it, as some players swear by it while others don’t feel the perk adds many benefits when there are already several weapons that come with the perk.
The 106 Strength stat is disappointing for this helmet as it is 29 points off the current max. Veteran Destiny Hunters might want to hold off while new Hunters will want them only to help reach Level 34.
Claws of Ahamkara are the other Warlock Exotic gauntlets in Destiny and can be used with either sub-class. The “Whispers” perk allows for two fully-powered melee attacks, and the Snap Discharge perk increases melee attack speed. If you want to build a melee-powered Warlock, these gauntlets are for you. They also look like they may synergize well with the new Warlock Stormcaller sub-class for the The Taken King.
The split 58 Discipline and 68 Strength stat roll is excellent these gauntlets. Destiny players with these already should look at the potential for an upgrade while new Warlocks should add the Claws of Ahamkara to their collection this weekend.
