Hang-Gliding Instructor Swallows Evidence After Customers Death

William Orders, a hang-gliding owner-operator in Vancouver, British Columbia is being held with no bail after he swallowed a key piece of evidence involving the death of a female customer.

Orders took a 27-year-old female on a tandem flight and shortly after takeoff the female became detached from her safety harness before falling one thousand feet to her death.

The females boyfriend watched as she fell from the harness, grasped onto her instructors feet and then eventually began her terrifying free fall.

After the accident police say Orders swallowed a memory card which contained digital video from the flight. The card was only discovered after x-rays revealed that it was still inside of Orders’ body.

In the meantime William Orders is being held on no bail until he passes the card and it can be examined by professionals. It was the hang-gliding instructors job to perform proper safety-checking and then strap in his passengers to ensure their safe return to the ground.

At this time Orders has only been charged with obstructing justice and officers tell the National Post that Orders admitted he knew something was wrong immediately after take-off at which point he tried his hardest to hang onto the female hang-glider.

British Colombia’s attorney general in the meantime says the tragedy has forced her to examine the rules and regulations surrounding hang-gliding to ensure that the practice remains as safe as possible for future participants in the activity.

Is a murder or manslaughter charge in store for this hang-gliding instructor?
