Girls’ Generation Summer Comeback: K-Pop Group Ends ‘Party’ Phase — Initiates ‘Lionheart’ And ‘You Think’ Phase

So far this summer, Girls’ Generation has dominated K-pop with their comeback. Anticipation for new music was quite high because it would be the first time the K-pop mega group would perform with eight members after Jessica Jung was removed. That was just a part of it though. They still need to deliver something worthwhile to the K-pop community. Fortunately, they did with the release of their song “Party,” which is attached below.

The success of “Party” was followed up by a tour along with promotion of Channel Girls’ Generation. However, it is about to come to an end as Girls’ Generation is now preparing for the second phase of their comeback with two tracks, “Lionheart” and “You Think.”

According to Koreaboo, Girls’ Generation is officially ending the promotion for “Party” this week. Their final performance for it was recorded on July 27, 2015, for the Munhwa Broadcasting Corporation (MBC) show, Music Core. Afterwards, they will concentrate on the second phase of their summer comeback. However, it differs from the first phase which featured only one track. The second phase will feature their album as a whole with double tracks “Lionheart” and “You Think.”

Both of the aforementioned songs were previewed back in late June through a 30-second television commercial showcasing both phases of Girls’ Generation’s summer comeback, as reported by KpopStarz. It is attached below for viewing.

As seen in the commercial,”Lionheart” has Girls’ Generation glamorized in dresses, performing a song with a bit of a retro feel. “You Think” is unique for being written by Finnish singer-songwriter SAARA. Apparently, it is a dance club track with hard club beats.

Right now, there is no release date for either song or the album itself. But it can be said Girls’ Generation leaving out certain concrete details has helped build hype. Prior to “Party,” nobody really knew what their summer comeback’s themes would be, but they teased fans with snippets on their official Instagram accounts. The teasing worked then, and it looks like it will work now.
