Michelle Williams Is Dating Author Jonathan Safran Foer

The latest in celebrity gossip revolves around Michelle Williams who is reportedly dating author Jonathan Safran Foer.

The 34-year-old actress seems to have a new romance in her life that’s blossoming with the 38-year-old author of such hit novels as Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close, Everything is Illuminated, and Eating Animals.

Though widely recognized in the literary world, Foer has very recently arisen to stardom in Hollywood’s eye when his novel Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close was adapted into a movie in 2011. It starred Tom Hanks and Sandra Bullock, and was even nominated for two Academy Awards.

He also adapted his novel Everything Is Illuminatedinto a film back in 2005, but it received less attention. It starred Elijah Wood as gave director and screenwriter Liev Schreiber his start in Hollywood.

You would think that Jonathan met his now girlfriend, Michelle, on the set of a film, but the way they met is far more ordinary than that. They reportedly met through some friends, and hit it off rather quickly.

It’s the perfect match, an insider reports:

“They knew each other through mutual friends. I’m not surprised that Michelle is attracted to him. She loves books. She reads almost every day. They’re two people in the same mind-set.”

The actress has admitted in the past to having walls lined with books in her Brooklyn apartment. No doubt she has a few of her esteemed beau’s books on her wall as well.

Both parties have been in serious relationships before they started dating. Author Foer was married to now estranged wife, author Nicole Krauss, and they had two children. They had been together for 10 years before splitting up in 2014.

Williams was last seen dating Heath Ledger before his passing in 2008. The couple had a child together, Matilda, who is now nine years old. Williams and Ledger had taken a break about three months before his passing, no doubt on account of his alcoholism and depression that came with his then current role in The Dark Knight.

Ledger’s passing was quite hard on Michelle who was left to raise their daughter alone, and it’s nice to know that she has has found someone again.

“With Jonathan,” another source said, “Michelle looks finally at peace and genuinely happy.”

This relationship isn’t expected to be revered as one of the great Hollywood romances, or to be plastered all over the tabloids, but that seems to be just how Williams likes it. Now that she’s dating an author, she and Foer will hopefully be able to keep a low profile and raise their kids in peace as they enjoy their happiness together, however long that may last.
