Nicki Minaj has been in embroiled in numerous feuds lately. One of the most famous was the Twitter exchange between her and Taylor Swift that turned out to be just a case of miscommunication. But the current one with Safaree Samuels seems to be among the fiercest.
Having been together for 11 years before the split, the two had a much-publicized breakup in 2014. According to Us Magazine, Safaree divulged that the rapper treated him like an employee. This was during an interview on the Power 105.1’s The Breakfast Club. The following was his statement.
“I walked away. I’m not going to say I broke up, but I’m the one who walked away. I packed up my stuff and I left … it got to the point where it was like, ‘I’m your man. I’m who you go to sleep with every night. I’m who you wake up with every morning.’ And it got to the point where I was being treated like an employee, instead of like her man.”
The interview took place after the two duked it out on Twitter. Nicki Minaj is said to have started it with the following post.
“Even when I try to protect ppl, they still try to take advantage of me. Haven’t u learned that God is in control? Stop while you’re ahead.”
This is according to Celebuzz.
Fast forward to July, 2015, and the two are at it again. Just last week, Safaree claimed that Nicki was not over him, claiming she had sent him an email saying that she still loved him. This was through a post on Twitter.
Safaree also recently made claims that he wrote the lyrics to some of her songs. This has been via his recently released song called “Lifeline.” According to the rapper, he says, “My bars on The Pinkprint no one will ever match.”
But Nicki is not taking this lying down, and on Tuesday, she addressed his rant, saying that he didn’t have the intellect to write her songs. This was during her Toronto concert. The following was Nicki Minaj’s exact wording, according to the Daily Mail.
“You don’t even know how to pronounce these motherf***ing words in my motherf***ing rap, b**** … Till this day, I never stopped. See a b**** a** n***** can’t write my raps, you know why? You don’t have the heart or the mindframe or the motherf***ing intellect b**** n****!.”
