Powerball Winning Numbers July 29: Jackpot Rises To $100 Million — Do You Have The Winning Ticket?

Hoping to win the $100 million Powerball jackpot on July 29? Match all six numbers in Wednesday night’s drawing and you may have a good excuse to call out of work on Thursday.

The Powerball drawings takes place at 11 p.m. ET every Wednesday and Saturday night and can be watched live on one of these local TV channels.

The winning numbers for July 29 are: 2-22-27-28-52 PB 35 Power Play 3

There were no jackpot winners in the last drawing on July 25, so the jackpot increased to a whopping $100 million. If there is no winner tonight, the grand prize may reach as much as $100-115 million for the next drawing on Saturday, August 1.

Although no one won the jackpot last Saturday, there were almost 400,000 in non-jackpot prizes given away ranging in value from $4 to $2 million. One lucky lottery player in California matched five white balls (no Powerball) won $1 million, and a player in Puerto Rico who doubled the prize ($2 million) by purchasing the Powerplay feature.

The Power Play option costs an extra $1 on top of the $2 fee for the Powerball ticket. If you win a non-jackpot prize, your winnings can multiply by as much as five times. Unfortunately, ticket holders who pay extra for the Power Play will not be able to double the jackpot if they win.

Tickets are sold in 44 states: Washington, D.C.; Puerto Rico; and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Find a lottery retailer in many grocery stores, convenience stores, and gas stations. Some stores also have one or more self-service lottery ticket vending machines, with Powerball, Mega Millions tickets, and instant “scratch” tickets available.

If you’re dreaming about what you will do with your big cash windfall, the odds are slim that you will win the $100 million jackpot (1 in 179 million). If you beat the odds, you will have to decide between a one-time payment of the cash value of tonight’s jackpot ($63.2 million) or a 30-year annuity.

The lump sum payment of $63.2 million will be reduced even more when federal and state taxes are deducted from the winner’s check. There are some states that do not tax lottery winnings, but the majority of them will take their share right away.

Wiinners who choose the annuity option will get 30 annual payments based on the full $100 million Powerball jackpot. The first payment of approximately $3.3 million (before taxes) will be made shortly after the winner turns the ticket in at their state’s lottery headquarters. A cost of living increase of 5 percent will be added to the 29 remaining payments.
