Was Lonzie Barton Murdered? Search For Missing Child Becomes Homicide Investigation
The search for missing Florida child Lonzie Barton has shifted gears, and in a negative way. WJCT News reports that authorities have upgraded this case from a missing child search to a homicide investigation. Meanwhile, the 21-month-old boy has not been located. It’s going on day six. Will the search end soon, or will this homicide investigation turn up with nothing?
Authorities have alleged that the missing child’s mother’s boyfriend is the primary suspect in his disappearance. They say that William Ebron has not been cooperative with their search endeavors. Authorities in Florida have declared that Ebron has been “misleading and unhelpful.”
Lonzie Barton vanished over five days ago, and now searches for him have taken a grim turn. News 4 Jax reports that searchers are now searching a landfill for evidence in the boy’s alleged homicide. Authorities confirmed today that they believe Ebron has information that can lead to finding Lonzie.
The Florida Times-Union reports that the search for Lonzie Barton has uncovered multiple bodies. However, none of the bodies have been identified as the missing child. At least one body has been tied to another missing person’s case, however. The body has been tied to a 2003 case, but authorities haven’t clarified on which case yet.

When Lonzie disappeared, his mother’s boyfriend reported that someone had stolen his vehicle. He said Lonzie was in the car when he slipped into an apartment for a minute. However, the car was later located with no signs of baby Lonzie. In just days, authorities have confirmed the mother’s boyfriend as the only suspect, but will he give any information to locate this missing child?
