‘The Bachelor’ And ‘The Bachelorette’ Spoilers: The Shows Are Mostly Lies — Former Contestants Reveal Scripted Secrets

After last night’s season finale of The Bachelorette, fans will be moving onto Bachelor In Paradise before awaiting the return of The Bachelor. Many secrets and spoilers always come out about each season, but some have often wondered if the show is actually scripted and planned. Well, some former contestants are now coming forth to say that not everything is written in stone, but they are told a lot of what to do and say.

The New York Post reported that Courtney Robertson, a contestant on Ben Flajnik’s season of The Bachelor, spoke with them about her time on the show. During the season, Courtney and Ben ended up going skinny-dipping on the beach, but it was all part of the plan.

“I knew if I suggested [skinny-dipping] on-camera, they would help me organize it.”

Well, that’s exactly what happened, and more. Robertson wrote a book, in which she admits they also had sex for the first time in those waves, and the cameras were focused on them. She did say the “sex wasn’t planned,” though.

Robertson says that setting up the scene was done when producers called her and said they had an interview set up for her. She was taken away from nine other women and brought to Flajnik’s hotel room for the skinny-dipping scene.

Producers of the shows apparently make sure that there is no shortage of drama, and it’s why alcohol is always provided in full. Other scenes, such as some in Season 14 of The Bachelor with Jake Pavelka, were planned, too.

Tenly Molzahn was seen as a fan favorite, and before her rose-petal bed scene with Pavelka, a staffer pulled her to the side and coached her with things to say. Apparently, ABC wanted to make sure she stuck around a while.

“A producer asked me if there was something memorable I wanted to tell him, and because my name is so unique, I opted to play off that. I did a list of ’10 things to know about Tenley,’ with the final item being that I was a good kisser. I was encouraged to be the first kiss, and I was the first kiss.

I surrendered myself to the producers.”

Staffers have been known to pull contestants aside, place phone calls to them, and even secretly speak to them in the restroom. If a contestant has a good idea or ABC really wants something to happen, the producers are going to make it happen.

Back in June, Josh Seiter, who was on Kaitlyn Bristowe’s season of The Bachelorette, accused ABC of faking the whole show. He claims that producers told him what to say when cameras were rolling, and even fed him the line, “If I don’t get a rose, it will be a blow to my ego.”

Josh also said that he was told to strip for his introduction on the show, and that he had more interest in Britt Nilsson, but they wouldn’t let him speak to her. He also stated that Brady Toops was given instructions to date her after she was eliminated.

According to Josh, all the roses handed out are pre-selected, as well. He says that producers make those decisions, and not the bachelor or bachelorette.

Remember the “Bromance” that blossomed on this season of The Bachelorette between JJ and Clint? Reports states that was scripted, as well, because ABC wanted to add yet another little twist to the show.

There may not be many out there who believe The Bachelor and The Bachelorette is entirely real, but some do. Spoilers leak out because the series is taped months in advance of airing, but these former contestants state that most of what happens on the episodes is all a lie, and totally scripted for the fans.
