Jenelle Evans Demands Jace Not Call Her Mother ‘Mom’

Jenelle Evans and her mother, Barbara, are seen at odds, once again, on the upcoming episode of Teen Mom 2, which airs on Thursday night. In a sneak peek of the new episode, shared by Starcasm on July 27, Barbara comes to visit Jenelle Evans at her South Carolina home, where she lives with fiancé Nathan Griffith and their son, Kaiser. However, while their meeting was supposed to be civil, it quickly turned sour after Jace, 5, called Barbara “mom” several times.

Once Barbara informed Jace that he can call her whatever he’d like to call her, she began discussing his school behavior with Jenelle Evans, claiming he acts out after returning home from her and Griffith’s place. According to Barbara, she feels Jenelle Evans’ drama-plagued relationship, and regular screaming matches, has had a negative impact on the child. As fans of Teen Mom 2 have seen, Evans and Griffith often engaged in drawn out fights with one another, and a couple of them have resulted in arrests.

Although Jenelle Evans insists she is not responsible for Jace’s bad behavior, their argument continues.

“You think you know what is wrong, but what really is wrong is that he wants to live here,” Jenelle Evans tells her mom.

“Now this is what I do not want him hearing,” Barbara responds as Jace walks out of the room.

“Oh my god. Anyways. He told me he wants to live here. He needs more time with his mother. That’s what he needs. That’s why he’s so distraught… And you said, ‘He can call me “mom.” ‘ No he can’t. I’m the mom. He can call you ‘mama,’ that’s fine. He can call you ‘meme,’ but ‘mom’ is my name.”

As the Inquisitr previously reported, Jenelle Evans recently filed for custody of Jace after keeping him in her mother’s care for the past five years. During an interview with OK! Magazine earlier this month, Jenelle Evans spoke of her decision, explaining that she wanted more rights and visitation with her son.

“The custody order that’s in place basically says, ‘Whatever [Barbara Evans] says goes.’ And I want something set in stone to where it says, ‘[Jenelle Evans] gets him these days.’ So that she has to follow by the guidelines.”
