‘Real Housewives’ Star Ramona Singer Recounts Violent Childhood

The Real Housewives of New York City star Ramona Singer recently wrote a book about her life, titled Life On The Ramona Coaster. Although the reality star’s memoir won’t be released until tomorrow, new details about the book have hit the web.

On July 27, Radar Online revealed a few excerpts from the book, in which the longtime Real Housewives star labeled her childhood home a “war zone.”

In addition to Singer claiming to have watched her father beat her mother, she also said he terrorized her siblings, leading the Real Housewives star to take action against him.

Recalling an incident, which took place when she was 15-years-old, the Real Housewives star said her father called her “cruel and demeaning” names.

“He gets in my face. I can smell the rancid alcohol on his breath and see the rancor in his eyes. Then he gets in my mother’s face, alternating scathing insults between us. Something he says, I can’t recall what, hits a nerve. I snap.”

After reaching her breaking point, Singer pulled the “biggest knife with the longest and thickest blade” from a drawer in her kitchen.

“Without hesitation, I lunge toward him, point the sharp blade directly at his face and scream, ‘Stop it. Stop it right now … Or I swear I will take this knife and shove it into your neck.’ He backs away, startled.”

Luckily, the Real Housewives star never actually followed through with her plan. However, the moment served as a turning point in her life, and changed things between herself and her family forever.

“I lost forever whatever was left of my childhood. I lost my innocence.”

As the Inquisitr previously reported, the Real Housewives star also discussed her husband’s affair in Life On The Ramona Coaster, which will be released tomorrow. According to a separate Radar Online report, Singer alleged she was suicidal after learning Mario was cheating on her with a younger woman.

As fans of The Real Housewives of New York City will recall, Singer was made aware of her husband’s affair with Kasey Dexter in 2013, but didn’t see it for herself until she caught Mario and Dexter at their home in the Hamptons. Once she did, she filed for divorce, but later attempted to reconcile with her husband, who returned to his mistress just months later.

The Real Housewives of New York City Season 7 airs on Tuesdays at 9 p.m. on Bravo.
