Bever Family Murder: Brothers Kill Parents, Siblings In Horror Murder, But Plot Didn’t End There

The horrifying murder of five members of the Bever family in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, has shocked the nation, but it seems that the plot to kill didn’t end there. Police reports indicate that the Bever brothers, suspected of stabbing their parents and three siblings to death, had actually planned to continue their killing spree beyond the family home. The two brothers, 18-year-old Robert Bever and 16-year-old Michael Bever, killed their mother and father, April and David Bever, before turning their knives to four of their siblings.

WGNTV reports that the family-of-nine lived together in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. The siblings were homeschooled by their mother, April. Many neighbors say that they frequently talked to the boys when they were outside mowing and others reminisce on play dates with the Bever family. However, shock rippled through the community when the seemingly close-knit family was destroyed by two of its own. The two oldest Bever sons, Robert and Michael, have apparently admitted to killing not only their mother and father, but three of their siblings, severely injuring a fourth. The only sibling not harmed in the attack was the youngest, the 2-year-old sister, who is now in state custody.

The two teens are charged with stabbing to death their mother and father, two brothers, ages 12 and 7, and their 5-year-old sister. The pairs 13-year-old sister is in critical condition after the horrific stabbing. Police say they were notified of a disturbance at the home when one of the now deceased young boys dialed 911 for help. Fox23 News reports that police responded to the home and found the bloody scene along with knives and hatchets on the property. The police say that either the 7-year-old or 12-year-old brother was able to dial 911 before he was murdered by his brothers. The police say that this one action by the young brother before his death may have saved not only his two surviving sisters’ lives, but also an undetermined number of people outside of the home.

Police say that Robert and Michael Bever didn’t plan to end their killing spree with their family members. In fact, police think the boys fled out the back of the home when authorities arrived at the home following the 911 call, which saved the two sisters that remained alive in the home. The police also arrived shortly before a scheduled ammunition delivery, which could have been used to kill others in the community. Police officials are currently not speaking on the ammunition delivery as the case is still under investigation. However, Corporal Leon Calhoun with Broken Arrow police says the young boy who made the 911 call is a hero who certainly saved lives.

“He did save the life of his 13-year-old sister and his two-year-old sister and possibly many others after that.”

Police claim that the 13-year-old sister was able to identify her brothers as the attackers while in the hospital and is currently under state care as she recovers. The 2-year-old sister is also in state custody as the investigation into the Bever family murder continues.
