Kristen Bell Surprises Cancer Patient Avery Huffman, 6, With A Phone Call From ‘Frozen’s’ Princess Anna [Video]

Kristen Bell channeled her inner Princess Anna to call a young girl who was diagnosed with cancer.

The Frozen star called 6-year-old Avery Huffman, who was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor last month, and left her a voicemail as Princess Anna of Arendelle, one of Huffman’s favorite Disney characters.

“This is Princess Anna of Arendelle. I just wanted to call and say, ‘hello,'” Bell says in the voicemail. “I hope you’re having a great day and playing a lot with Hoppy Jumpy! I love bunnies!”

Bell even interrupts the phone call to pretend that her sister, Princess Elsa of Arendelle, had something to add to their conversation.

“My sister Elsa says she’s heard that you’ve been such a good girl, and that you’ve been so brave. She’s decided to crown you as an honorary princess!” she says.

“I think you’ll make a great princess!” Bell says at the end of the voicemail. “Well, I got to go build a snowman with my friend Olaf now!”

Avery’s reaction to the surprise phone call was caught on video by her parents, who later uploaded it to YouTube, where it has garnered over 1.6 million likes so far.

“Today, the video went viral… and [it’s] making Kristen Bell fans out of several people, including myself. I’ve watched the video of her hearing from Anna/Kristen Bell, around 50 times, just to watch her face light up, and to hear her giggle and see her smile,” Avery’s father, Brandon Huffman, said, according to a previous report by the Inquisitr.

According to her CaringBridge.org page, Avery was diagnosed with a fatal tumor in June. Her official diagnosis is DIPG (Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma), “a brain tumor found in the pons, part of the brainstem on the lower back of the brain, near the top of the spinal cord,” according to the page. The pons are essential for body functions such as sleeping, breathing, and eating.

Although Avery was just diagnosed last month, the pile of medical bills is already starting to add up, putting an unneeded financial strain on the already grief-stricken family. A GoFundMe page was set up in Avery’s honor, with a goal of $180,000. The campaign has since ended, with the family only falling $4,000 shy of their goal.

“It is so incredible to see her strength daily, to see her bravery,” Brandon wrote. “She has no choice but to persevere. Her life is literally on the line, but she presses onward, is strong and courageous, she’s not terrified or discouraged. She just continues to press on.”

Another donation page has been created where people can go to donate to help out Avery and her family, through the Talbert Family Foundation.

“Please join us in prayer as we stand with Avery as this tough little girl fights the battle of her life. #AveryStrong #brAvery #Pray4Avery,” the fundraising page reads.
