AMC Releases Massive ‘Fear The Walking Dead’ Gallery For Season 1, Episodes 1 And 2

In the last week, there has been an abundance of new images from AMC’s upcoming companion series to The Walking Dead called Fear The Walking Dead. For a long while, fans had no insight whatsoever into this new zombie series, yet now there seems to be more than fans can analyze and pore over.

First up, Bloody Disgusting has listed the official synopsis for AMC’s Fear The Walking Dead.

“Living in the same universe as The Walking Dead, Fear the Walking Dead is a gritty drama that explores the onset of the undead apocalypse through the lens of a fractured family. Set in a city where people come to escape, shield secrets, and bury their pasts, a mysterious outbreak threatens to disrupt what little stability high school guidance counselor Madison Clark and English teacher Travis Manawa have managed to assemble. The everyday pressure of blending two families while dealing with resentful, escapist, and strung out children takes a back seat when society begins to break down. A forced evolution, a necessary survival of the fittest takes hold, and our dysfunctional family must either reinvent themselves or embrace their darker histories.”

Next up is an extensive Fear The Walking Dead gallery. Many of the images are for episode 1 (currently titled “Pilot”), but there some episode 2 (as yet untitled) images included as well. Fans can compare these images with the ones the Inquisitr recently posted. From the looks of it, episode 1 could center on Travis (Cliff Curtis) and Madison’s (Kim Dickens) family, while episode 2 will concentrate on Travis’s ex-wife, Liza (Elizabeth Rodriguez), his son, Chris (Lorenzo James Henrie) and the Salazar family.

Fear The Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman has also released a press statement about this new series.

“Here we go again. I don’t say that with the exhausted tone one might expect coming from someone embarking on a companion show while also working on the sixth season of the original. Truth be told, I would have to fill this space with exclamation points to accurately represent just how excited I am about Fear the Walking Dead. It’s so cool for me to be expanding The Walking Dead universe in such exciting and new ways. Those have been our buzzwords since we first started talking about this show: “exciting” and “new.” I’m so happy to finally be to the point where we can share the show with the world and everyone can see exactly what that means.”

There has been much speculation about Fear The Walking Dead since it was first announced. Recently, International Business Times suggested the core family in Fear The Walking Dead could be immune to the zombie virus. However, so far there is little evidence to suggest this. If the family is not immune to the virus though, it shouldn’t be too long before we start to see casualties among them. After all, how many families have we seen survive in The Walking Dead?

Fear The Walking Dead will premiere on Sunday August 23, 2015 on AMC. A Walking Dead marathon will start this Sunday which will screen all episodes of The Walking Dead seasons 1-5. A special episode of AMC’s Talking Dead will also screen before the episode 1 premiere of Fear The Walking Dead. All AMC programming can be found here.
