Ed Sheeran Comes To Taylor Swift’s Defense In Feud

Ed Sheeran is coming to BFF Taylor Swift’s defense. Sheeran, who’s been friends with Taylor Swift for years, is standing up for Swift in the wake of the controversy she inserted herself in.

For those who aren’t aware, Swift tweeted at Nicki Minaj when she thought Minaj was taking a shot at her on Twitter, after Minaj tweeted about slim girls getting all of the love from MTV, after her video “Anaconda” failed to get a nomination for Video of The Year.

In an interview with the Daily Telegraph, Sheeran said that Swift did nothing wrong, despite missing Minaj’s point in the discrimination that VMAs have against Black women in the industry, to pick a fight with the “Anaconda” singer.

“I think everyone knows that Taylor has done nothing wrong in that situation. She didn’t nominate herself for the awards. It’s not her fault. She just made some good videos and people think they’re good.”

As the Inquisitr reported, Minaj tweeted out, “If your video celebrates women with very slim bodies, you will be nominated for vid of the year. Oh but trust me. I’ll be on that stage to collect my awards for vid of the year. Feeling Myself & Anaconda.”

Swift landed on that tweet and responded to Minaj, “@NICKIMINAJ I’ve done nothing but love & support you. It’s unlike you to pit women against each other. Maybe one of the men took your slot..”

To which Minaj replied, “U must not be reading my tweets. Didn’t say a word about u.’ Swift then tweeted out to the rapper, “@NICKIMINAJ If I win, please come up with me!! You’re invited to any stage I’m ever on.”

Minaj eventually retweeted this gem.

Katy Perry, who’s the sole reason Swift’s “Bad Blood” exists, even got in on it by saying, “Finding it ironic to parade the pit women against other women argument about as one unmeasurably capitalizes on the take down of a woman…The real travesty is where is the shine for #BBHMMVideo when VMA eligibility period was 7/7/14-7/1/15 & that gem dropped 7/1… @MTV.”

Minaj eventually replied to Perry with a kissy-face emoticon.

Do you think Ed Sheeran is right, or is he just sticking up for his best friend, regardless of the issue at hand?
