Tim Tebow on NFL Network’s Top 100 Players, Sanchez Not On List

Tim Tebow is a lot of things these days. Evangelical poster boy, charity king, New York Jet’s back up quarterback. Now he can add one of the top 100 players in the NFL according to NFL Network’s. The top 100 are selected by current players.

Tim Tebow made the cut at number 95. It is interesting to note that in New York Tebow is the back up quarterback to New York Jets starter Mark Sanchez. Even after leading the Jets to two AFC championship games in his first two years playing Sanchez found himself off the list.

Tebow was traded to the New York Jets last month by the Denver Broncos despite Tebow’s role in leading the Broncos to the AFC West Title and a playoff victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Broncos were able to secure the services of Peyton Manning, the best quarterback in the NFL.

Rumor has it that Tebow is not satisfied playing back up and is hoping that with some improvement to his game he will be able to take over as starter for the Jets. There has been little comment from the Jets’ player or management to these reports.

When Tebow was signed it was promised that he would see significant playing time.

The Jets dealt last year with a titanic meltdown in the second half of the season finding themselves out of the playoffs. Part of the problem was the locker room was completely divided and Sanchez helped contribute to the mess. Many question the wisdom of bringing Tebow to the team as he may just find himself dividing the locker room even further.
