Ben Higgins’ ‘Bachelor’ 2016 Buzz: ‘Bachelorette’ Star Addresses Talk, Will He Take The Gig?

Will Bachelorette cast-off Ben Higgins be the Bachelor 2016 lead? Many suspect that is indeed the case, even though the network has not formally announced anything yet. Based on Higgins’ appearance on Monday night’s Men Tell All, many viewers would bet that this deal is signed, sealed and delivered. What does Ben say about the possibility?

Reality Steve’s spoilers had earlier indicated that the network was focusing on either Andi Dorfman’s ex-fiance Josh Murray or current Bachelorette frontrunner Shawn Booth for the gig. However, that changed a few weeks ago, and since then, it has seemingly been all about Ben Higgins. Steve’s Bachelor spoilers indicate that Ben has snagged the gig, but so far, he’s playing coy.

E! News reports that Ben indeed has been chosen to be the Season 20 lead. The outlet noted that Higgins had not yet signed on the dotted line, but the gig was his if he wanted it. Barring any last minute changes, Higgins will be handing out the roses this winter.

Prior to the Bachelorette Men Tell All airing, Higgins told Entertainment Tonight, “The opportunity is a great one and from a 30,000 foot view I would have to consider it.”

Now that Men Tell All has aired, and viewers have seen how well Higgins handled the attention, many would bet that this Bachelor 2016 season is indeed his for the taking. He stood up for Kaitlyn Bristowe, pushed back against some of the guys who were crossing the line, and the audience reaction to him was overwhelmingly positive.

According to People, Ben is still open to the idea, but he claims that no offer has been made yet. Of course, given the way these things work with this franchise, Higgins wouldn’t phrase that any other way. Ben indicates that if an offer did come, he would have to consider the pros and cons.

Ben says that he is still single, but he has a good life including a great job and house in Denver. That said, it appears that Higgins believes the process with the show can work, so he seems open to leading the next season. Higgins adds that he hasn’t dated anybody since filming the Bachelorette season with Kaitlyn, so despite all of the love from the fans and even some prior contestants, he is still available.

Filming for the Bachelor 2016 season begins in September, although Reality Steve’s spoilers have said that Higgins is already taping some stuff for the show now. Steve indicates that a camera crew has already been working with Ben on his promotional photos and introductory video. It seems that a formal announcement might be made during Monday’s After the Final Rose show, but that’s not for certain quite yet.

Many fans are excited about the possibility of having Ben Higgins as the Bachelor 2016 lead, and he does seem to be the most suitable candidate at this point. While some viewers will certainly be rooting for Kaitlyn Bristowe’s runner-up, whether it is Nick Viall or Shawn Booth, Ben Higgins did finish in that prime third-place spot that often sets the stage for becoming the next lead.

The big finale for Kaitlyn, Nick and Shawn airs on Monday night and then comes Season 2 of Bachelor in Paradise. Many of the fans are betting that a formal announcement about Ben Higgins being the Bachelor 2016 season star will be coming soon. This will allow the franchise to capitalize on the love this particular bachelor is receiving right now.
