‘RHONY’ Star Ramona Singer Contemplated Suicide After Mario’s Affair, Talks ‘Overmedicating’ In New Book

RHONY star Ramona Singer recently reached the end of her marriage, and in her new book, Life On The Ramona Coaster, Singer opens up about the hardships she faced after learning of her husband Mario’s affair.

On July 21, Radar Online shared an excerpt of the RHONY star’s book, in which the housewife admitted to having suicidal thoughts, and over-medicating herself after her husband’s affair.

“The stress of everything became unmanageable and it began to wreak havoc on my mind, body and spirit. There were times when I was so low that I almost felt like throwing myself in front of a subway train.”

Rumors regarding the RHONY star’s husband’s relationship with the much younger Kasey Dexter began surfacing in 2013, but it wasn’t until 2014 that Singer actually caught the pair together. After she did, Singer filed for divorce. However, as the weeks went on, she had a change of heart, and the RHONY star began working on salvaging her marriage. Then, in July, 2014, Mario rekindled his romance with Dexter, and he and Singer were done for good.

Following the affair, a doctor placed the “emotionally broken” RHONY star on anxiety medication, but unfortunately, it didn’t help. Instead, after Singer began taking too much of the medication, things got even worse.

During a Broadway performance of Kinky Boots, the RHONY star recalled, her medication began to overrun her life.

“I kept nodding off because I was taking too much anxiety medication. I didn’t realize it at the time, but I was over-medicating myself to combat depression.”

As the Inquisitr previously reported, the RHONY star also spoke of how she discovered news of her husband’s affair in Life On The Ramona Coaster. According to a Bravo report earlier this week, Singer revealed that before she walked in on Mario and Dexter at her home in the Hamptons, she was informed of the affair by a friend.

“I remember walking along Park Avenue with one of my good friends, before going to therapy one day, and she said to me, ‘I hate to be the one to tell you this, but I think you need to know,’ she paused and then said slowly, ‘I think Mario has been seeing another woman.’ ‘What are you talking about?’ I said, in complete denial. ‘Well, you know the other night when we were at Plaza Athénée for that party. People overheard him arguing with a woman on his cell phone when he was in the men’s room. He was screaming at her.’ “

The RHONY star’s new book, Life On The Ramona Coaster, hits bookshelves on July 28.
