Miranda Lambert Breaks Down: Blake Shelton Files For Divorce Two Weeks Before Miranda’s Emotional Performance [Video]

Miranda Lambert broke down on stage while singing “The House That Built Me” two weeks after her husband, Blake Shelton, filed for divorce. According to TMZ, Lambert was performing the song on July 18 at Cheyenne Frontier Days in Wyoming when she got super emotional. The song, which has been a huge success for her, was actually written for Shelton, but he gave it to his soon-to-be ex-wife to record.

It is now presumed that Miranda was getting emotional because her marriage to Blake was over.

According to People Magazine, Blake and Miranda have released a statement asking for the public’s privacy at this time.

“This is not the future we envisioned. And it is with heavy hearts that we move forward separately. We are real people, with real lives, with real families, friends and colleagues. Therefore, we kindly ask for privacy and compassion concerning this very personal matter.”

Miranda Lambert will be keeping the couple’s Nashville home according to the Inquisitr. Blake Shelton will get the ranch the couple owns in Tisomingo, Oklahoma. Divorce proceedings are expected to go smoothly as the couple had a prenup.
