Leah Messer Custody Update: Corey Simms Worries About Her Emotional State

Leah Messer may have passed her drug test, but her custody battle with Corey Simms appears to be far from over. During last week’s episode of Teen Mom 2 Season 6, fans watched as Messer celebrated her negative drug test with a friend. Days later, a report claims her first ex-husband, Corey Simms, remains concerned about her emotional state.

According to a Radar Online report on July 20, a source told Life & Style the following.

“With her drug and emotional issues, Corey doesn’t think [Leah Messer] is in any shape to be a good mother right now. He will stop at nothing to make sure his girls are in safe hands.”

Leah Messer has three children, two daughters with Simms, 5-year-old twins Ali and Aleeah, and one daughter with Calvert, 2-year-old Adalynn.

“So far, [Leah Messer]’s been on good behavior and things are running smoothly with her and the kids, but if her behavior raises any red flags,” Simms and Calvert are prepared to take action against her.

As the Inquisitr previously reported, a deleted scene from Teen Mom 2 Season 6 recently revealed Simms’ reaction to his custody hearing with Leah Messer. In the clip, shared on YouTube last week, Simms was seen sitting with his wife, Miranda, and his father, Jeff, and step-mom.

“I’m glad it’s over, I’m just not exactly happy with the outcome. [I got] an extra day, but I feel like it needs to be more.”

Simms and his wife filed for full-custody of the twins several months ago, and although they did not get that, they did receive an extra day with the girls, as well as the ability to drop off and pick up Ali from her physical therapy appointments.

“I’d never try to take their mother’s place, but I get to spend time with them and have that bond with them and love them as if they were my own,” Miranda told the Simms family.

While Leah Messer remained the custodial parent, Simms claimed she could lose custody if she were to slip up with her behavior.

“The judge looked right at [Leah Messer] and told her that if the girls are continuing being tardy and absent from school, then he is going to reverse it and give the girls to [Simms] during school time.”
