Caitlyn Jenner, Laverne Cox Finally Meet At ‘I Am Cait’ Screening
Caitlyn Jenner has made quite a few new friends since she revealed herself to the world as the bright, inspiring woman that she is now. Well, looks like Caitlyn can now add fellow transgender celebrity Laverne Cox to her gaggle of gals.
According to Us Weekly, Caitlyn Jenner held a special private screening of her new reality show, I Am Cait, and among those that attended the screening was Laverne Cox, who seemed very excited to finally be able to meet Caitlyn after sharing publicly how much she respected her.
Laverne Cox took to Instagram to post a few photos of the evening, one of which featured herself and Caitlyn with the following caption.
“@caitlynjenner and I finally met in person at a special private advance screening of #IAmCait. #TransIsBeautiful #girlslikeus #caitlynjenner”
It’s no secret that Laverne has some major respect for Caitlyn Jenner. According to People, she took to Instagram to support Jenner following her moving speech and acceptance of the Arthur Ashe Courage Award at the ESPY Awards just last week.
Laverne also spoke highly of Jenner while doing an interview for Entertainment Weekly‘s LGBT issue.
“Her authenticity, her vulnerability is beautiful. Her love of family is so beautiful… Caitlyn is dynamic and has a sense of purpose and vision.”
Laverne even went to Tumblr to discuss her feelings over Caitlyn’s coming out photos, which were released in Vanity Fair, saying that while her photos were beautiful, her most beautiful qualities were her heart and her soul.
“The ways she has allowed the world into her vulnerabilities. The love and devotion she has for her family and that they have for her. Her courage to move past denial into her truth so publicly. These things are beyond beautiful to me.”
Laverne Cox wasn’t the only lady to attend this private screening of I Am Cait. A few of the other lovely ladies to attend the screening included Trace Lysette, Candis Cayne, Jen Richards, and Zackary Drucker.
Laverne captioned this lovely photo of the group with a caption reading, “Fun with #girlslikeus tonight at the screening of #IAmCait @tracylysette @candiscayne @smartasjen @zackarydrucker #MimiMarks #TransIsBeautiful.”
While Caitlyn Jenner has stayed relatively quiet since accepting the Arthur Ashe Courage Award at the ESPY Awards, from the looks of these photos, it seems as if she had some fun with her new group of girls.
