Lauren Manzo Marries: ‘Manzo’d With Children’ Star Shares Wedding Excitement On Social Media

Lauren Manzo married her longtime boyfriend on Saturday, and she had no problem sharing the special day with her fans on social media. According to Entertainment Tonight Online, Lauren Manzo wed Vito Scalia in a ceremony held at St. Cyril’s Church in New York City. The family and their guests then celebrated the wedding with a reception held at the Manzo family restaurant in Patterson, New Jersey.

The Manzo’d With Children star and Real Housewives of New Jersey alum had waited a long time for her special day. Vito proposed to Lauren in November 2013, but the couple had been dating for several years before he popped the question. After the proposal, Lauren said to Us Magazine that “I’m so incredibly happy!! I’m in shock. I’m so excited to spend the rest of my life with my best friend. Well he was my brothers’ best friend first, but I stole him!”

After the engagement was announced, her family all took to social media to share their own happiness of the news, and the wedding planning began. Social media played a big role in the wedding as well. Lauren shared several photos from her big day on social media, and she kept her fans in the loop on all the festivities, including the fact that Taco Bell would not deliver her food on her wedding day.

On Sunday, she gushed about her big day in a post on her Instagram.

“Last night was unreal and absolutely perfect. I had my fairytale wedding, fairytale dress but most importantly the best Prince Charming by my side to enjoy it with…. I love you HUSBAND!!! #laurenandvito #happywifedelilife.”

She posted another photo thanking The Stylish Bride for making her day so special.

“I have to give a huge shout out. My wedding day was so perfect because of @gisebell @gilda1123 & @thestylishbride if you’re getting married you need these girls- they were what made moving around and anything revolving around my dress absolutely flawless. Without you my day wouldn’t have been as absolutely perfect!”

Us Magazine reported in August 2014 that Lauren selected a Vera Wang dress for her special day. Her mother and others helped her select the perfect dress for her big day. Daily Mail shared details of Lauren’s wedding dress.

“The blushing bride wore a traditional white gown with fitted bodice with sweetheart neckline. The sleeveless showstopper came with a full netting skirt and her long veil created a spectacular train to the rear. Lauren’s chestnut tresses were pinned into a wavy up-do – but her elegant exterior gave way to a more playful side at the reception when she attempted to smear her new husband’s face with wedding cake.”

Lauren gushed even more to Us Magazine about her big day this weekend. Us Weekly was at the event, and an upcoming issue of the magazine will include even more photos from the wedding. Lauren told the magazine that “[Today] is exactly what I always wanted. I just want people to have fun, that’s all I want. If I leave my wedding where I had a blast but no one else had fun I’d end up being sad!”

It does look like Lauren Manzo is a very happy bride this week, but it did take some work for her to get her look for the wedding the way she wanted. She had the Vera Wang gown, and she wanted to look her best in it. Manzo has struggled with weight issues most of her life. Her weight has gone up and down many times over the years.

An October 2014 Examiner report shared Lauren’s struggle with weight. The reality star appeared with her mother, Caroline Manzo, on Dr. Oz, and she spoke about her decision to have gastric band surgery in September 2011. The procedure helped her lose 40 pounds, but she wanted to lose 20 more pounds before her wedding day. Examiner shared more of Lauren’s struggle.

“Despite her weight loss surgery, Manzo said she struggles to lose weight through diet and exercise alone and is still tempted to eat potato chips and other junk food. Lauren said she eats six small meals a day and makes an effort to work out. Like other bariatric patients, Manzo said surgery is a tool and not a cure-all.”

Lauren also had a breast reduction surgery in 2014, and she shared photos of the before and after on social media, according to Us Magazine. She revealed to the magazine that her weight issues made her “depressed.”

Fans have been able to see all the wedding planning on Manzo’d With Children. Season 1 of the reality series premiered in October, and fans saw Lauren pick that Vera Wang gown on the show. Season 2 of the reality series will premiere on August 16, and fans may see a bit of the wedding ceremony on an upcoming episode.

Caroline Manzo said in an interview that that will be “ultimately Lauren and Vito’s decision, but to not show that is kind of not fair. You’d probably see just a little of it to get a flavor of it. I think the fans deserve that.” Several stars from the Real Housewives of New Jersey were at the event, including Jacqueline Laurita, Dina Manzo, Kathy Wakile, Melissa Gorga, and Rosie Pierri.

Lauren is definitely ready for married life. According to Reality Tea, she revealed in a recent interview that she has not been able to do anything with Vito Scalia before their big day.

“We don’t live together. We’re not allowed to sleep in the same bed. We’re not allowed to go on vacation together. So I’m more excited for him to be my husband and my life than for the wedding.”

Fans will need to tune in to watch Manzo’d With Children Season 2 on Bravo next month to see more of the wedding excitement. What do you think? Are you happy that Lauren Manzo finally tied the knot?
