Someone found a dead man in the pool of actress Demi Moore.
The shocking discovery was first reported by gossip news organization TMZ. When a death is connected to a major celebrity like Demi, it’s bound to be big news. This celebrity-connected death is set to be big news, so there are a few important details to know about this developing story.
As for whether or not Moore herself is involved, she was not directly tied to the man who was found in dead her pool; by all accounts, she didn’t even know him. Moore wasn’t even home when the 21-year-old man died, which is believed to have been early Sunday morning. Sources emphasized to TMZ that her children were not present either. A neighbor countered this claim, saying that the children of Demi Moore were at the home for weeks and throwing “parties every day, day and night.”
There may be pictures to back up the neighbor’s assertions. According to the Daily Mail, Demi’s daughter Tallulah Willis had posted several pictures of herself at late night pool parties. However, the Mail adds that she and sister Scout were in New York over the weekend to celebrate the latter’s 24th birthday.

Despite the neighbor’s account, those close to the 52-year-old actress state that it was her assistant who was throwing the parties. It was also reportedly the caretaker who invited the victim, now identified as Edenilson Steven Valle of Los Angeles, Calif.
Reports indicate that Valle could not swim. Law enforcement officials believe that the young man accidentally slipped and fell into the pool, drowning. He was thought to have been alone at the time of his death, as other party attendees had left the pool area. It’s unknown why he remained behind. Edenilson was said to have been missing for 10 to 15 minutes prior the discovery of his dead body in the deep end of the swimming pool.
The Los Angeles Police Department was called at around 5:20 a.m. and the victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Though police have ruled the drowning accidental, they are still awaiting a toxicology report to determine if whether alcohol or drugs may have played a role in his untimely death. TMZ was told that while there was alcohol at the party it was a “limited amount.”

Sergeant A. Bone of the West Los Angeles Police Department told NBC Los Angeles that there were reportedly five people in the home of Demi Moore at the time of the incident, including the assistant. The additional party attendees have yet to be identified. Bone echoed TMZ source statements that neither Demi “nor [any] family members associated with the celebrity [were] at the location” when Valle died.
There are conflicting statements about the dead young man and the partying at Moore’s home. As the investigation is ongoing, time will tell if there’s more to this unfortunate situation.
Demi released a statement to People magazine, sharing that she was “shocked” at the discovery and tragedy.
“I am in absolute shock. I was out of the country traveling to meet my daughters for a birthday celebration when I got this devastating news…The loss of a child is an unthinkable tragedy and my heart goes out to this young man’s family and friends. I ask that you please respect the privacy of all concerned during this sensitive time.”
