2012 NBA Playoffs Preview [Video]

The shortened NBA season is over and the 2012 NBA Playoffs are about to begin. Sixteen teams will be hitting the court in the next few days with the hopes of taking another step closer to the championship trophy.

The Chicago Bulls and the Miami Heat are the favorites in the East but they’ll have to get past the Philadelphia 76ers and the New York Knicks before they get a chance to fight for the Eastern Conference title. The Heat, who earned the second seed in the East, will start their playoff run against the Knicks.

Wayde said:

“For us, I think it’s great that we start off with a team that really makes you focus and you have to play your best to beat them. It’s great to have them in the first round and not have any letdowns. We’re playing a very good team.”

The Knicks will be the underdogs against the Big Three but Carmelo Anthony is ready for the challenge. Anthony said:

“We have so many threats offensively that match their offensive threats. It’s pretty much even as far as the starting lineups. But our second unit I think is a little bit stronger.”

The Chicago Bulls will take on the Philadelphia 76ers during the first round. The Bulls are expected to win an easy series but with Derrick Rose still recovering from injuries, it could be an interesting series. Center Joakim Noah isn’t worried about Rose’s condition, however. Noah said:

“This is what we have been looking to all season. We are ready. And Derrick is ready. He’s the best closer in the game of basketball. He’s ready.”
