WWE News: Vince McMahon Reportedly Has Decided On The Undertaker’s ‘WrestleMania 32’ Opponent

As we saw at WWE Battleground last night, The Undertaker made his shocking return to WWE.

It was amazing to see as he took out Brock Lesnar in a small effort to get revenge on the man who ended his WrestleMania win streak at WrestleMania 30. Many liked the idea of Taker getting revenge a while back, but at this point it didn’t make much sense. Especially with Brock Lesnar being one of the most over faces in WWE right now.

This has led to a lot of speculation on what Undertaker will be doing at WWE SummerSlam, but also at WrestleMania 32. According to The Wrestling Observer, WWE Chairman Vince McMahon has reportedly decided on who Undertaker will face at WrestleMania, which means whatever happens at SummerSlam will give us an indication on what happens later.

The original idea was to have Undertaker face Lesnar at WrestleMania, since the Brock vs Rock thing can always go down later. The Rock is set to face Triple H as of this writing. If Brock were to face off with Undertaker at SummerSlam, as it appears he will do, they would have Undertaker vs Sting.

There is a monkey wrench being thrown in. According to Cageside Seats, Seth Rollins could very well be added to the match with Undertaker and Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam to make it a triple threat WWE World Heavyweight Title match. With rumors of The Shield returning, this very well could make some sense and it would allow WWE to save the Lesnar/Taker match for a later date. Undertaker might very well win the WWE World Heavyweight Title if this were to go down. If not, Rollins would need to retain in an impressive way.

Taker battle

It is believed that this is the retirement year for The Undertaker. As a result, he is appearing a bit more than usual. WrestleMania 32 does take place from his home state of Texas. So it makes a lot of sense to think he would have his last match there. It makes total sense to give Undertaker a nice run up until Mania.

A triple threat match is a bit awkward to have at SummerSlam in the end. This would be the first time in history that WWE had a triple threat match take place at three of their top 4 PPVs. While WrestleMania’s triple threat was only a 3 to 5 minute spectacle, it was technically a triple threat. To avoid this from happening too early yet again, WWE had a Fatal Four Way back at WWE Payback for the WWE World Title.

At the end of the day, a title match does make sense and Rollins losing makes even more sense. However, it was rumored before that Rollins would face Triple H at SummerSlam and that very well could be the way things go still.

Undertaker being back is great, but it does throw off a great deal of plans for SummerSlam and potentially WrestleMania. While it appears WWE is still leaning to have Brock Lesnar go against Undertaker at Mania, if their match at SummerSlam ends up being one on one, Sting is the most likely candidate for Taker at the show of shows.
