WWE News: Wrestling Legend Sting To Appear On ‘WWE Battleground’ Tonight
Pro wrestling legend Sting has been with WWE for about a year now, and he has made a huge impact on the company. His segments on WWE RAW and match at WrestleMania 31 were quite memorable, and truly fit the man we grew up loving as wrestling fans. The problem was that no one knew if Sting would return. Many assumed his last match with WWE could have been his loss to Triple H at WrestleMania months ago. However, that is not the case, thankfully.
Sting is set to wrestle Bray Wyatt at WWE SummerSlam next month, according to the Wrestling Observer. This was a match many of us thought would fit day one, but mainly for WrestleMania, not SummerSlam. That said, one would imagine that if he were to wrestle Wyatt, the program with Roman Reigns would have to come to an end very quickly. This looks to be happening in one of two ways tonight.
There is set to be an interference in the Roman Reigns vs Bray Wyatt match tonight. Luke Harper was rumored to be going after Reigns, potentially to help his former Wyatt Family member in Bray. This would allow Harper and Reigns to go at it for a bit. It is also thought that this could be where Sting makes his return. Since the rivalry with Reigns would only grow from his match with him at WWE Battleground, something has to make Wyatt shift his attention.
If Sting were to appear on WWE Battleground to go after Wyatt, it would work well all-around. It would work story-wise, as Wyatt would not bother with Reigns when Sting is available. This also makes many want to get the WWE Network, as Sting appearing in a free network month makes people want to keep or go out and get a subscription due to the surprises the WWE Network can provide. On top of this, if Sting appears on Battleground, ratings for WWE RAW could be higher simply because Sting has been a proven ratings draw in his time with WWE.
Knowing all of this, it would make all the sense in the world to have Sting appear on Battleground. It makes you wonder why he is there, and the curious nature would make us want to tune into WWE RAW. With RAW’s lower ratings as of late, they need all the help they can get. With Sting appearing and potentially the Undertaker, one can imagine that ratings will go up. If not, there is no way they will — ever.
