Everett Streko: Amber Alert For Missing Boy, 8, In New Jersey, Parents Suspected In Child Interference

An Amber Alert for 8-year-old, Everett Streko, has been issued by police in Somerville, New Jersey. They say the child’s parents are wanted for child interference.

WABC-TV 7 reports that the boy was last seen by his grandmother/legal guardian on Thursday at 10:30 p.m. at her home on Kings Court in Green Brook Township. She noticed the boy’s biological mother — Amy Streko, 32 — was gone with Everett and that all of his belongings went with them. Amy also lived at the same residence.

The child’s grandmother called the Green Brook Police Department about her missing grandson around 12:00 p.m. when her suspicions grew that something was wrong.

Everett’s biological father — Michael Streko, 24 — was last known to reside at 331 West Sylvania Avenue, in Neptune City, New Jersey. Authorities found nothing in their search at the home. Investigators estimate that Michael Streko removed all of his belongings from there on Thursday at 1:00 p.m. His current whereabouts are unknown.

Everett Streko is 4-feet-tall, weighs approximately 60 pounds, has green eyes, brown hair, and fair skin.

Michael Streko usually drives a 1997 White/Blue Winnebago with the New Jersey license plate X72-FNK. Amy Streko is usually driving a 2007 grey 4-door Ford Focus with the New Jersey license plate Y96-FHN. Both parents are in violation of a court order and wanted for child interference, the report states. The New Jersey State Police Missing Person Unit is involved in helping track down the parents.

Another Amber Alert was issued for a child in New Hampshire this week, but was canceled when he was found safe. Police say 18-month-old, Malachi Grant, went missing from his home in Somersworth, New Hampshire Thursday afternoon after his biological father — Jeremiah Grant, 33 — abducted him. WMTV 8 reports that Grant was found with the child by Farmington police in Maine on Friday at around 1:30 a.m. when he was spotted driving on a road in Farmington. A car chase ensued, but officers were able to successfully return Malachi Grant back to his mother. The father is being charged with being a fugitive from justice charges, eluding police, reckless conduct, and endangering the welfare of a child.
