Lily-Rose Depp, Chanel Model, Channels Mom Vanessa Paradis, But Johnny Depp Slammed For Lily’s Seductive Pose [Video]

Lily-Rose Depp is the new ambassador for Chanel. Channeling supermodel mom Vanessa Paradis, the 16-year-old daughter of Johnny Depp began by showing up at Chanel runway shows. She followed that with a very visible presence at a Chanel show, reported People.

Just how closely is Lily-Rose following her 42-year-old mother’s path to success? Just like Depp, Paradis became a Chanel brand ambassador early in her career. Vanessa was the face both of the Coco perfume and “Girl” Chanel handbag campaigns.

Lily-Rose rocked her video for the Pearl eyewear collection, in which Depp worked closely with Chanel’s creative director, Karl Lagerfeld. As shown in her video below, Lily Rose stunned in her sunshades and cute outfit.

“Lily-Rose is stunning, she’s a young girl from a new generation with all the qualities of a star,” stated Lagerfeld.

But some are saying that Lily-Rose’s look in the video is too sexy for a 16-year-old. Is Depp overdoing the provocative pose in her first Chanel ad? Her actor dad Johnny is being criticized by those who argue that point, reported the Daily Mail.

Lily-Rose wore two different designs, and they weren’t the problem. It was Depp’s seductive pout that generated criticism.

“[Lily-Rose is a] baby doll in a world imbued with sweetness and femininity,” said Chanel.

However, at 16, not everyone is convinced that the “baby doll” is old enough to model for such suggestive ad campaigns.

“Sixteen-year-olds are not mentally, emotionally or intellectually able to cope with the pressures that these modelling situations place them in. I would not allow my daughter to become a model at that age,” said child psychologist Dr. Michelle Elliott.

Moreover, the psychologist cited research indicating that pursuing grown-up pressures such as modeling can be challenging for teens.

“I don’t think children are ready to take on the pressures at that age. Research shows that even 16-year-olds who think they are grown up find it difficult to handle pressures of grown ups. We know the effects, by and large, are not good.”

Lily-Rose first modeled when she was 15, debuting in Australian fashion magazine Oyster.

As the Inquisitr reported, Depp joined her mother Vanessa for the most recent Chanel fashion show.

In addition to modeling, Lily-Rose is following in dad’s footsteps. Her next movie is to be Yoga Hosers, featuring both her father and Kevin Smith’s daughter, Harley Quinn Smith.

Vanessa and Johnny broke up in 2012 after 14 years together. In addition to Lily-Rose, Depp and Paradis have a son, Jack, who is 13. In February, 2015, Johnny married Amber Heard.
