Malaysia Airlines Flight MH17 Video: New Footage Taken Just After Crash Shows Russian Separatists Picking Through Victims’ Belongings

New video of Malaysia Airlines Flight MH17 shows what appears to be Russian separatist fighters going through the belongings of the crash victims as the plane’s wreckage still smolders on the ground.

The flight was shot down last year over Ukraine with the crash being blamed on a Russian-aligned rebel group in the region.

On Friday, new video released by News Corp Australia shows a man in military fatigues going through the wreckage in a field. At one point, the man empties out a bag found on the ground.

The Malaysia Airlines Flight MH17 video was reportedly taken by the Russian separatists themselves, and people can be heard talking in Russian and telling civilians to evacuate the area.

The new video has led to outrage with many saying it bolsters the evidence that the flight was downed by Russian separatist fighters.

“It is disgusting to watch that video footage,” Australian Foreign Affairs Minister Julie Bishop told CNN affiliate Sky News. “I can’t verify the authenticity of it, but it is certainly consistent with all that we were told, the advice that we received 12 months ago, that Flight MH17 had been shot down by a missile in eastern Ukraine and that the pro-Russian separatists were involved.”Friday marked the one-year anniversary of the crash, which killed all 298 people on board. There are reports that a coalition of nations including Australia, Belgium, Malaysia and Ukraine are conducting a criminal probe.

There is currently an investigation into the downing of Malaysia Airlines Flight MH17, which is expected to be released in a matter of weeks. Some of the people involved in the probe say the results could lead to murder charges against the group responsible.

“We didn’t expect to get as far as we are now,” Dutch prosecutor Wim de Bruin told Britain’s Daily Telegraph newspaper. “There will be charges of murder and possibly charges of war crimes.”

Russia has denied involvement in the plane’s crash and suggested that it may have been downed by an overzealous Ukrainian fighter pilot. But those theories have also been debunked.

The video of the Malaysia Airlines Flight MH17 crash can be seen below, but be warned that it contains graphic images that may be disturbing to some viewers.

The report on the crash of Malaysia Airlines Flight MH17 is expected to be completed in October. There is no word on whether the new video of the crash site will play a role in the investigation.
