‘RHONY’ Star Bethenny Frankel Dishes On Her Decorating Style

RHONY star Bethenny Frankel purchased a new home in the Hamptons in April, and now, months later, it is decorated to her liking. However, while most would assume the RHONY star indulged in the most over-the-top and expensive items, that is far from the case. In an interview with People Magazine on July 17, Frankel explained her thought process going into her home project.

“I don’t over think it, I just go with it. Half of this house is from T.J. Maxx. I’m in the T.J. Maxx witness protection program. I’m embarrassed by how much I go there. I literally don’t want them to see me in there. I have to hide… Most people here would never tell someone they bought something from T.J. Maxx, but I’m not going to pretend I’m somebody I’m not.”

The RHONY star claimed that when decorating her new five-bedroom home, she used many items from her previous home in Tribeca. She even recycled some of the home’s wallpaper and reused an Ikea mirror that “has been in very place with me since my studio apartment.”

Frankel said that rather than go for what feels forced, she went for what felt good — just as she does when she dresses. Instead of labels, the RHONY star prefers comfort and personality.

Decorator Aaron Kirsten, who offered the RHONY star some tips as she decorated her Hamptons home, explained, “She doesn’t want to worry about the furniture. We curated what she had. She’s not a waster. When I show her something, she will say ‘find me a cheap version of that.'”

“I’m really happy that nothing was expensive. I just want it to be happy and fun and not pretentious,” Frankel added.

As the Inquisitr previously reported, the RHONY star recently claimed the Tribeca home she once shared with Jason Hoppy never really felt like home. Although she was the one who bought and renovated the pad, Frankel told People Magazine that something simply wasn’t right about the apartment. Now, however, she’s in a place that represents “freedom.”

“This is the first real home I’ve had in my entire life. I’ve moved around so much. And in the places I’ve rented, I hardly ever wanted to put pictures up because I didn’t feel like it’s mine. Everything here is easy. I’m not worried about people spilling stuff.”
