‘The Walking Dead’ Season 6 Spoilers: Morgan’s Impact Teased

The Walking Dead will premiere Season 6 in October, but the teasers for the upcoming season are already coming out from the set and from Comic-Con. Morgan returned at the end of The Walking Dead Season 5, and his arrival will have an impact on the rest of the group, especially Rick.

Gale Anne Hurd talked about Morgan’s arrival and the impact he will have on the group with E! Online.

“You’ve got Morgan showing up, that’s going to chance the dynamic. It’s still dealing with the integration…can these two groups really find commonality and what happens when Morgan is thrown into the occasion, who has seemingly renounced violence except to protect himself?”

The group reached Alexandria during Season 5, and the final moments showed Rick in the act of killing someone. Morgan walked in to find him in the middle of the act.

Lennie James, the actor behind Morgan, spoke about his return to the series and his character’s mental state for Season 6 with Zap2It at Comic-Con.

“Morgan is going to have to battle to see whether or not he can stick to that mantra, [‘All life is precious’]. That involves his relationship with Rick but as much his relationship with the group and with the Alexandrians. If you wanted to draw a line of what’s the difference between Rick and Morgan, [it’s] that Rick has woken up every morning thinking to himself, ‘What can I do for the group?’ and Morgan has woken up every morning since he lost his son thinking, ‘What can I do for myself?'”

James also teased that fans may see Morgan battle just as much with himself than he does with the group at Alexandria. The first poster released for The Walking Dead Season 6 earlier this summer did tease that Morgan would play a larger role in the action.

A preview released at Comic-Con shows a bit of what fans can expect out of The Walking Dead Season 6, and the majority of the footage focused on Rick and Morgan. The beginning of the clip focused on Morgan and Rick’s reunion. That led to a middle filled with Rick taking control of Alexandria and running the compound. However, his leadership earns some doubters, and they turn to Morgan for leadership.

The final part of the clip shows Rick trying to maintain control of the group, but a larger issue will come into play. A large group of walkers will enter the town.

It is clear that the series will focus on Rick vs. Morgan for Season 6. Will Rick maintain control? On the other hand, will Morgan force Rick out?

The Walking Dead will return to AMC on October 11.
