James Eagan Holmes Found Guilty Of Murder


Jurors in the Aurora Theater Shooting trial have come back with a verdict for shooter James Holmes. According to NBC News, Holmes has been found guilty of “24 counts of first-degree murder, 140 counts of attempted murder, and an explosives count.”

After testimony from over 200 witnesses, the jury rejected Holmes’ plea of insanity, finding him guilty of the murder of Jonathan Blunk, Alexander Boik, Jesse Childress, Gordon Cowden, Jessica Ghawi, John Thomas Larimer, Matthew McQuinn, Micayla Medek, Veronica Moser-Sullivan, Alex Sullivan, Alexander Teves and Rebecca Ann Wingo.

At 4:15 p.m. MT, Judge Carlos Samour Jr. began reading the first verdict on the 165 charges against Holmes. It is expected to take approximately 90 minutes to read through all 165 verdicts.
