PlayStation 4 Will See ‘Uncharted’ Collection Remastered With ‘Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection’ This October

Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End for PlayStation 4 is far on the horizon, with a targeted release of Spring, 2016, but this doesn’t mean that PlayStation 4 gamers should slack on their dose of Uncharted games. The PlayStation Blog announced this week the new collection of Uncharted games, remastered for the PlayStation 4 console, months before the Uncharted 4 release.

Uncharted is one of the best PlayStation-exclusive games to release on the PlayStation 3 platform, and PlayStation 4 users who are only starting with their Uncharted fandom will find it useful that an Unchartedcollection will be released to PlayStation 4 soon. Named Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection, it will compile the first three Uncharted classics from the PlayStation 3 and develop the games for maximum gameplay on the PlayStation 4 platforms. This is great news for both long-time Uncharted fans who are nostalgic about the series, and the newer fans who might want to catch up on the Uncharted collection before Uncharted 4 releases next year.

Metro UK announced that long-time Uncharted fans will notice that there will be a difference between the original Uncharted games from the PlayStation 3 and the remastered version for the PlayStation 4—but it will all be for the better. The PlayStation Blog is very proud of the remastered Uncharted series, and reveals a few footages and screengrabs from the Uncharted 2 remaster for PlayStation 4.

“Based on what I played, PlayStation 4’s copious processing power is helping Uncharted 2 age gracefully. We should all be so lucky as Nate. The new 1080p resolution and generous framerate give everything a clean, crisp, fluid look and feel that flatters the original PS3 version without betraying Naughty Dog’s vision. One might say that this is Uncharted 2 the way it was meant to be played.”

NeoGAF posted a photo comparison of the older Uncharted game vis-à-vis the remastered version for PlayStation 4.

The same way TV series fans binge-watch the previous seasons before the new season is released, it certainly is a good idea to binge-play the Uncharted series in PlayStation 4 before Uncharted 4 releases next year — especially since Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection will be handled by one of the best porting studios, Bluepoint, Lazy Gamer reports that great things could be expected from the Uncharted remaster for PlayStation 4.

Bluepoint was responsible for Ico and Shadow of Colossus remaster, the God of War Collection, and the Titanfall port on Xbox 360.

Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection for PlayStation 4, featuring Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, and Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception, will release a demo before summer ends, since the guys at Bluepoint are still tweaking a few things. But the official release of the Uncharted collection for PlayStation 4 is pegged for October of this year.
